So quick question about packet 3.....

I've heard it's sent via email....how do they get the email address to send it to? (It's sent to the beneficiary....right? Or is it sent to me?)

After receiving NOA2 do I just wait for a letter from NVC

No....

Start calling the NVC....I called the 603-334-0700 number  They will give you a case number.....then you go to the website and watch the status of your case (the ceac "check my status" website).

In Tunisia there is no packet 3. As soon as the status said ready and filling out the ds160 I started emailing the embassy together with my fiancé asking about an interview date. I got packet 4 which is the interview letter and the doctors list. If they don't send you the doctors list with packet 4 email them back and ask for it. This is what I did. I think it is the same thing for Algeria. If not the embassy will know your Algerian fiancé email because he will be asked to provide it while filling out his ds160.

NVC sends your case to embassy, when embassy recieves you have to get the e-mail or any sort of notification..i think in different embassies it can be different. but usually you will get the e-mail from embassy when they recieve your case. The petitioner will get e-mail/ We had like this - attachment: Letter to K-1 applicant (Rus and Eng) and this is just just e-mail explaining what we have to do. (

We are pleased to inform you that the Immigrant Visa Unit of U.S. Embassy Moscow has received your approved visa petition and that your case is ready for processing.

You should now visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru to complete the following steps: 1) arrange payment of the $265 visa fee (for each applicant); 2) enter an address to which the visa will be delivered; and 3) schedule your interview appointment. Once you pay the fee and specify the delivery address, you may schedule your interview for any available appointment slot. Please ensure that the date you select falls within four months of the date on which the visa petition was approved. Failure to do so may impact the validity of your visa petition.)

Petitioner will get this e-mail and has to resent it to the beneficiary. E-mail in 2 languages- english and language of country of beneficiary. Good luck!

I've seen different kind of scenarios lately around here, as it seems to be country specific.

It's common that the petitioner gets an email from the Embassy so they have to forward it to the beneficiary. Some other times, Embassy calls the beneficiary asking for their email, since they do have beneficiary's phone number as it was stated in the petition. Other times it comes by snail mail, and they do have the address in the petition too.

What I plan on doing, if they don't contact me in a couple of days after I see the case is ready on the ceac website, is emailing them myself with my complete contact information, letting them know I'm ready myself.

Good luck! You are so much closer now :)

Well...

I'm a little impatient so I started calling every day a week after the NOA2 date....I received my case number exactly 2 and a half weeks after the NOA2 date  (I think everyone here on VJ recommend to start calling after two weeks ):)

You're welcome and here is a simple or the email that you and your fiancé should send the embassy. As soon as it says ready, tell you fiancé to fill out the ds 160 and submit it and then keep emailing the embassy (both of you) with a some kind of this email until they schedule your interview. This is what me and my fiancé did. And at the end it was my fiancé who reveived the email with the scheduled interview date. In Tunisia, we pay the visa fees at the embassy. I don't know whether it is the same case in Algeria or not. I think it is better to pay cash at the embassy. It is safer and less complicated.
