Yes. That is what I had read also (from the embassy information page). However, I have read several of the interview reviews where the petitioner  did in fact go into the building with the beneficiary.

That being said....I have also read that it is beneficial for the petitioner to be in the country for the interview  (even if your fiance takes your passport in and says "they are waiting outside")

In addition.... (as my February filers can tell you) I'm a pretty good fit thrower  (think toddler that wants the chocolate at the store....my mother would be so disappointed :D)

Come hell or high water....I will be in Algeria for that interview.....

PS....I'm following you too. PM any time...we are all in this together

Ohhh this is great advice. I will be there for sure! I love L'Algérie and can't wait for that moment. I hope you get your interview soon and pls tell me all about it. :D Soooo happy to have a friend in this Journey.

I found this link here at Visa Journey with information about the interview in Algiers and might be helpful: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Algeria&cty=Alger

The visa is in the mail and will arrive tomorrow. It's a really strange feeling. I have been so focused on this process, making sure it's done properly, etc, that now it's over with, I still feel like there are things left to do. Additionally, everything after NOA2 has been a blur. From NOA2 till now just seems like a couple of days. If you are waiting on NOA2, just know that when it comes, the rest FLIES by. It did for us anyway. She will be with me by the end of the weekend! I am so excited. :)

Congrats @TriloByte !. What a nice feeling that the process is done now and you will be together with your loved ones. We are happy for you!

Thanks.  I will feel a lot better once he is through the medical next week.  I'm already making plans at work for the 23rd to be an easy day because I know I'm going to be a mess and non-functional the day before the interview.  :D  We're planning on reviewing the interview questions over the next 2 weeks just to make sure he's as comfortable as possible going into the interview since he sometimes stumbles with his English, especially when he's under stress.

That's really sweet of you! :)

Yeah, I got my RFE earlier than those with receipt numbers close to me but didn't think I would take longer to get my NOA2. I can tell by how quiet this group has suddenly been that everyone has moved on with their petitions and could possibly already be with their loved ones. I'm really happy for them, but it's still tough being left out! Haha

It's been rough on us too. We were planning to be together for the coming holidays and the window for that to happen is closing very quickly. I'm seeing some people get RFE after waiting 190+ days.  I hope we all get an approval soon.  It's day 183 for us without any word.

Hang in there.

In Tunisia the petitioner can not attend the interview either. But many beneficiaries took the petitioners' passports to the embassy with them and showed them to the CO and they said that it really helped.
