Hi there,

My fiance and I received a letter on June 9 saying the NVC had received our I-129F petition and was forwarding it to the embassy in London. However, we haven't heard anything since. Is this normal? It seems like some of you who filed at similar times have already gone in for your interviews, so how did the embassy contact you? When I checked the CEAC website today, it said our case was "Ready." Can we schedule our interview now or do we need to wait? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm from England and I never recieved a letter from the NVC, but did receive a letter from London embassy saying they had recieved our petition. When mine said ready, I called knightbridge and booked my medical. Haven't booked interview yet though. I'm spacing mine out. You should be able to book medical if you have case number and police cert 😊

Thank you. At least I'm finding out that I'm not being singled out. Would still really love to know why they process 70% filers each month and the other 30% are left behind. I've run statistics over and over again for each month and they tend to overlook an average of 25-30% each month and process them terribly slow. Is it a quota thing?  I've worked in and around government for almost 30 years and they do go by quota a lot. Really sucks.

I truly do not believe an attorney would help....I think this is some sort of internal problem with USCIS.....a year ago they were getting NOA2S out within 90 days now it's taking 120 - 140 on average  (seriously?!?!) When you and I sent ours in the time-line said 89 days (I got mine at 169).

And we are in the same boat....I own a business that works with children, I have been on the K9 SAR team and worked as a caseworker and supervisor for CPS....I have no idea how many background/FBI checks I have been through.

This whole process is so frustrating!

I am sorry that you have not been approved yet.....you are continuously in my thoughts.

I'm very sorry for all the delays that have been happening.  I agree with @janet3, it seems like processing times last year were a lot faster than this year.  Maybe it's just my perception because I'm in the process now whereas last year I was just observing occasionally but it does seem like there has been a significant slow down with USCIS this year.  I've even read that some parts of the AOS steps have seen a slow down as well; it used to be that the AP/EAD cards were taking 90 days or less and now the average is bumping up closer to 120 days.  I'm wondering if the change in our presidency has anything to do with this.  I've read that many positions in government at all levels have still not been filled and while USCIS might not be affected by this directly, the other departments they work with in getting the information for processing applications might be or might have their resources focused elsewhere.  We didn't have a presidential transition for 8 years and, while during that time there were certainly many changes, it was a relatively stable government.  I think, no matter what your political leanings are now, we can at least maybe agree that the transition of government in the last 8 months has been pretty unstable and I believe that could be causing some of the issues that we are seeing.  I'm not trying to start a political argument or discussion with this statement but I would think that any significant transition in government, no matter from D to R or R to D, would cause some delays to all levels during the change of power and transition.

170 days after NOA1 today and still nothing! Got RFE last June 13 sent them our response July 5 and they just updated our status to rfe received last July 31. This is really frustrating! They are so slow! Everyday i am here in VJ reading others timeline, how come they have already approvals when they are filed after mine. How long should we wait for NOA2. My F doesn't wan't to call them coz most probably they will just say we have to wait and they are still on January 1st filers. I am tired of waiting, i want to be with him asap. The time is running.

Atleast with VJ timeline you are able to see it's not only your case waiting for NOA2. Before finding this I was always like maybe I did something really wrong paperwork wise and my case is on hold or something. But I really believe there just slow and doing whatever cases come to them. Not in order. They have to send us NOA2 someday 🙌🙏

Yes, they are so slow. They should prioritize to finish their backlogs first, before anything. I really wish for my NOA2 really soon and for everyone who's waiting just like us.
