I called yesterday and they had received it.

I called this morning and they gave me the case number.

I hope your experience with the American embassy in Algeria is different from mine Janet :( our embassy is so slow and I think I have to wait an other month to have my interview scheduled for 2 months later. A Tunisian guy has just had his interview scheduled for 21 september and his case was received by the embassy May 24 :(  we are so tired of the wait. We have had enough of it. We did not expect that it was going a long wait at the embassy too. Only the NVC has been good to us so far 😣😔😔

I have been following a couple of Algerian K1 visa applicants through VJ....one scheduled their interview 3 months out....I assume that is how it's going to be. Waiting....

Hard to believe it's probably going to be around Thanksgiving before the interview :(

I really hope you don't have to wait so long for an interview....

Hi there,

My fiance and I received a letter on June 9 saying the NVC had received our I-129F petition and was forwarding it to the embassy in London. However, we haven't heard anything since. Is this normal? It seems like some of you who filed at similar times have already gone in for your interviews, so how did the embassy contact you? When I checked the CEAC website today, it said our case was "Ready." Can we schedule our interview now or do we need to wait? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

You should receive a letter from the Embassy in London that says something along the lines of your case has been received and it has a link to a page on their website with next steps. It could be that your letter got lost in the post. If your case is ready you can fill out the ds160 and follow the instructions on the Embassy website. The only issue you might have is when you have your medical, they ask to see the letter that the Embassy sent.

Good afternoon everyone on day 47 of waiting for RFE response just got off the phone with Tier 2 agent and was told that I have to wait 45 more days for decision. I will fill out an online form and submit to my Congresswoman so her office can do an inquiry. My case got stuck on the whoppee cushion pile. Nothing but lies by USCIS!!! 😞

I'm celebrating my 180 days of waiting for my NOA2, and still nothing. Contacted them multiple times, got my congressman involved and still a wonderful; nothing.  They continue to process April and May and even June filings.  I'm really wondering if those that got processed in a timely manner did so with a lawyer?  I would really like to know.  If I knew beforehand, I certainly would have retained one but everywhere I read in their website that they didn't take that into consideration.  I'm really doubting that now.  I persinnly have received FBI clearance, my fiancé had been in the US several times and even hase a SSN and still nothing from them. What did other people do differently that we didn't?   Down right frustrating. Thanks for letting me vent.

I had a lawyer, and I waited for ages. Made no difference. Granted, I didn't wait as long as you, but 4+ months is a long time.

I truly do not believe an attorney would help....I think this is some sort of internal problem with USCIS.....a year ago they were getting NOA2S out within 90 days now it's taking 120 - 140 on average  (seriously?!?!) When you and I sent ours in the time-line said 89 days (I got mine at 169).

And we are in the same boat....I own a business that works with children, I have been on the K9 SAR team and worked as a caseworker and supervisor for CPS....I have no idea how many background/FBI checks I have been through.

This whole process is so frustrating!

I am sorry that you have not been approved yet.....you are continuously in my thoughts.

Thank you. At least I'm finding out that I'm not being singled out. Would still really love to know why they process 70% filers each month and the other 30% are left behind. I've run statistics over and over again for each month and they tend to overlook an average of 25-30% each month and process them terribly slow. Is it a quota thing?  I've worked in and around government for almost 30 years and they do go by quota a lot. Really sucks.

I know! It's absolutely crazy!!! I actually started thinking it was about my travel history  (I travel a lot....for fun....it's my "thing to keep sane") And maybe it is....this whole thing is a mystery cloaked in "processing".
