I'm probably being paranoid a little, but NVC still has not received my case yet. approval 7/19. anyone with a similar situation?

Mine took almost a month to arrive.  I understand being paranoid, because I was as well, especially when I saw most other people have their case number in 1-2 weeks.  I don't know what causes the delay for some people but it will get there...eventually.

I realize I am a pushy, instant gratification kinda gal....but everyone I have talked to at NVC has been very nice.

I would call daily if I were you  (and I think several here have recommended calling daily)

This is cake compared to the horrible wait  (and people) at USCIS.....

I agree, almost everyone that I spoke with at NVC was at least polite, except for one person, and they never seemed bothered to help me.  Several of them were very kind of the phone and even said "Feel free to call every day to check on the status, we're happy to help".

So....I just called NVC. I was told they received the case today but there is no case number issued yet. He also said I could try to call next week to get the case number.

I will call tomorrow

Yep, call tomorrow for sure.  I think almost everyone who has had a case received one day is given the case number the next day.  Congrats!  :D

Same boat here....

Approved July 19....they haven't received mine either.

It took about a month for the NVC to receive our file. We got our NOA2 on June 10th and the NVC received it on July 14th. Then it took forever for the embassy to contact us... which is why his interview isn't until September 8th. This whole system is just confusing and frustrating...

We called today for the first time to the NVC, they received our case, we now have a case number and a Invoice ID number. The lady told us our file is ready to be sent to the Madrid Embassy! We are in sock!! that was soooo fast! Specially compared to our NOA2 nightmare.

So now what??????

In the ceac tracker, only reconice my case number by selecting inmigrant visa, is that ok??

Then says: "Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment."

But the lady told us, we should wait to hear from the Embassy and we have not received anything from the NVC

I was not expecting this to go so fast! Now i'm freaking out!! :jest:

I would definitely recommend emailing or calling the embassy as soon as it says "ready". We made the mistake of waiting for them to email us and ended up wasting time. Also, check the VJ page for your embassy for info. Looking at the forum for your country might help, too.

I have heard that phrase from them also....along with "that's what we are here for" and "call anytime". Angus told me today that I needed to call back next week because "the hold time is very long and it wastes a lot of time" and I think he actually meant that.:D

Yes. Every step of the way is a new mystery it seems. Even the final stages. After our approval, we are once again looking at the NVC status checker trying to make sense of the different status changes and determine when the visa will arrive. My biggest complaint is the lack of updates and information from them.

I am afraid the same thing will happen to me...

It looks like it takes 2 to 3 months to schedule the interview in Algiers....looks like I know what I'll be doing over thanksgiving break :P

Apparently, it's too much to ask that all embassies to follow the same guidelines/timelines or even be on the same page of the same rule book....what an f#%#ing nightmare.
