I see some people include recent paystubs as well.  He will also need to include an updated letter of intent that he plans to marry you and proof of domicile (proof he lives in the states- I've seen people mention a copy of drivers licence with address and pay stubs/ bills with an address).

Yeah, most probably in Arlington city hall. Do you by any chance know how long it takes to get a marriage license there? I did prelim checks online and their website said something like same day but want to be sure.

Looked it up on Uscis.gov.

sorry i must be missing something. where exactly can you find that info on the uscis.gov website? the check status link just returns current status but not whether the case was expedited or not.

What I have learned is that the marriage license should be issued same day as application.  However, they don't have Justice Of the Peace ceremonies here, so I am not sure if you can actually do it in the court here. I know they have a list of officiants that you can pick through for the court and you pay them to perform the ceremony - I am just not sure about the location stuff.  It is sort of all confusing to me...

January filer here, just stalking the Feb filers.  The 110 -120 day mark is a good perspective / expectation. Not an expert, but it's just what we are seeing in the January group.  Good luck to all!

thank you for the info. i was not expecting that no justice of the peace ceremonies are available there! we will probably call the list of officiants one of these days to inquire about schedules so will ask about how to go about where to have the ceremony. i am sure they will know or be able to point us in the right direction! =)

For sure!  They have the list of officiants on court website. That is kind of why we are leaning towards just going into DC since they offer the JP marriages in court for free.

Why dont we just do one big ceremony?  Maybe on the beach in Monterrey California?
