On my way to the mailbox today I tried to remind myself not to worry, not to be upset....that it would be here sooner or later. That the NOA2 did in fact exist and I would sooner or later receive mine  (because almost everyone will). I have to admit....it gets harder to convince myself day after day after day.

I opened the mailbox and grabbed the usual daily mail....pizza coupons and catalogs....and there it was. The Department of Homeland Security. The coupons and catalogs fell to the ground as I ripped opened the letter.....

Approved y'all. 169 days and today I received my NOA2.

Approved

So happy for you, hoping mine is around the corner.

@janet3 I am sssooooooo excited for you! You've waited much too long! For those of you who are still waiting, I pray that you get your answers soon!

I have seen too many people post about not receiving the packet 3/4 info from the embassy, so I decided to act pre-emptively... I sent an email to the embassy in Delhi asking them to send the packet 4 to his email address. He has everything he needs - he just needs the green light to schedule the medical, finger prints, and interview. His birth certificate arrived just in time!! Praise God!

On a bright note: I found a Living Social deal for our honeymoon!! It's valid through December 16th, so as long as there are no major hurdles, we have time to use it :D

Hello, guys, :)

How are you all? Sorry, I wasn't on VJ for a couple of weeks. The embassy took a couple of weeks to process our case and it was so frustrating. It was too difficult because we already had travel plans in our mind. The embassy caused a slight delay in our plans and they were like we are sorry. That's it. But, otherwise, they have been really helpful and assisting. So we just waited because there was nothing much we could do.

So after a loooot of waiting, today, I finally got an interview date! It's on the August 03rd! (Next week Thursday). I have my medical scheduled at 9am tomorrow. We are moving forward and are really excited.

I hope every one is doing well. We started this process on February 14th and it still isn't over yet for everyone of us. But, I promise no matter how long you have to wait, the waiting won't last forever. Stay strong and stay positive. Sending love and hugs to everyone! <3

I so know how you feel! My case was ready since 28 June and until now I have not received packet 3! I have my interview scheduled after weeks of waiting and waiting and after hearing of other people who have gone ahead anyway with no packet 3. Finished my medical last Saturday and my interview will be on 2 Aug. Good luck to you an me on your upcoming interviews! :D

yes, you technically can schedule the interview as long as you have your case number already. but the normal practice and what people advise on here and also depends on embassy, is for you to wait to be contacted with instructions on how to go about scheduling your interview and medical and what documents you need to bring to the interview (this is what packet 3 usually contains).

we have received the snail mail from NVC with our case number saying that they have dispatched our case to the Abu Dhabi embassy. we received the letter last june 20. it got to the abu dhabi embassy on june 28, changed the status to ready on that day and since then, we have heard nothing at all. abu dhabi does send a packet 3, BUT the weird thing is, they seem to do it randomly (this is my suspicion) - some people who have been waiting in line before me has not received it even after waiting 2 months while another person way behind in the line got hers within a week of her case changing to ready!

all of the above are for Abu Dhabi embassy by the way. i do not know what the process is for New Zealand. do you know if your embassy does send a packet 3?

i understand your confusion because that is exactly how i felt. i was also not sure whether i really was waiting for something and if i was, that would have been fine, because then i will know for sure that it will come and i just need to wait. my worry is that what if nothing was coming and i was sitting here waiting and wasting weeks when i could have already finished the process weeks ago! luckily i found several people here on VJ who were also going through abu dhabi and who did not receive packet 3 but who managed to get interviewed and got their visa just fine. so based on their first hand accounts, my fiance and i decided to just go ahead and schedule everything without packet 3. we will see how it will all go down soon when i appear for my interview appointment. wish me luck! :)

Thanks for your detailed explanation!!! According to VJ information, it does sent Packet 3 and 4. But the information might be dated.

This is the instruction for Auckland Consulate: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/ACK - Auckland.pdf

To schedule medical, I need to bring the following according to the above PDF. I just do not have my visa interview appointment letter. That is why I am waiting.

 Your visa interview appointment letter,

 Your passport,

 Two (2) recently taken passport-sized color photographs,

 A copy of your immunization records, and

 A copy of the medical exam form that can be found at the end of this document.

But for the actual interview, it says:

A copy of your NVC interview letter (does not apply to Diversity Visa, fiancé(e), adoptive, or asylee/refugee applicants)

So I am just not sure if I will get a interview letter or not. This is soooo confusing... If not, I would like to schedule my medical at least...
