I know at least a couple of MENA countries do not have a packet 4  (and 3 is iffy).

Do you know of any resources that list who sends what?

From what I hear once it gets to NVC and passed on to the Embassy.....he and I just have to do the rest by ourselves  (for Algeria).

I think I just don't understand the 3 and 4 thing....

Thanks for your help....

yeah, tell me about it. for abu dhabi, it seems to be all random at the moment, some get a packet 3, some don't. the ones that didn't, got their interview scheduled anyway and they were able to do it with no issues. some choose to wait for this packet 3 (like i did for several weeks!) - and they are still waiting until now, 60 days later and counting! after following and meeting other people here on VJ who are doing their K1 visas in Abu Dhabi and learning of how they were able to proceed without packet 3, my fiance and i decided to stop waiting and just go ahead and schedule! i am praying and hoping it all goes well.

sorry, i don't have a list of who sends what. some embassies do give out the instructions and the list of supporting documents to bring on their website so some people just need to follow the website and did not have to wait for the embassy to contact them directly.

did you check if maybe the algeria website have the instructions and docs online?

Okay so we got our RFE and it was a really simple easy fix. We just missed a question on the form 'have you committed any criminal offences'. They attached a piece of paper that we just needed to tick the 'no' box and sign and date it. We're going to post it tomorrow so they should get it by Thursday.

What's interesting is we also received a letter from our congressman who never responded to our email (or so we thought) his letter stated that we had an RFE and guess what, his letter was dated the same day our app was updated (we also never signed the privacy release form). I think he made a call and that's why our file was finally touched, we could've potentially been sat here even longer in limbo if it wasn't for him.

I'm crossing every part of my body now that we get approved quickly as it was a simple yes or no question which we of course answered no to! :D

Did you just use the contact form? I just did that for Kamala ....I gave my case number at the end...explaining the inconsistency in updating processing times leading to us not being able to request inquiries, not properly updating the status tracker, the horrible customer service that gives us absolutely no information or hope...and how emotionally disheartening it all is.... hopefully someone does for me what was done for you...I hit the 5 month mark next week...

Best of luck, I am rooting for you!

I am just wondering though, IF this small unticked box could have been the reason why your case took so long? Maybe since the question was was about criminal offences, and it was left blank that maybe they went and requested an extended criminal background check and that took so long to come back?

It very well could be, I could kick myself for missing this as I could've potentially been approved by now and have my interview booked! I'm just hoping for a quick turn around so I can start catching up to you guys lol

We didn't fill out a thing, all we did was send him an email and we also provided him with our dates and WAC number. So I have no idea how he managed to get an update on our case, whatever he did got us noticed though. I honestly thought he just couldn't be bothered replying to us.

Have you got a copy of your I-129f to check over and make sure you haven't missed a box like we did? I really hope you hear some good news soon you definitely deserve it!

I have checked the embassy website for algeria and it gives a list  (and a lot of detail) of what comes after the NVC.....so I am assuming no packet  (I think it is the same for Morocco....according to one of my friends here on VJ)

This whole process seems about as clear as mud

I know many of us have made mistakes during the K1 Process. Me included. I scheduled Wendy's interview through the Non-Resident portion of the Embassy website. Delayed our being together 4 days and we had to rearrange many plans. I was so furious with my self I could no long tolerate interacting with this forum. May seem like a very small setback to others, but to me devastating. Wendy was very calm and understanding through my mistake.

9:00 at night, The night before the interview. Wendy discovered she did not have the Passport Photos for the interview. She became a basket case. She tore the house apart. Crying! Wayne, Trust Me! I will find them.

I gave her 15 minutes then took control of the situation. Time to teach her "Gringo Attitude"! When we have a problem, we dry our eyes, grab the $$$ and fix our problems.

We ran to the photo shop that had just closed. She cried. A few moments later, she remembered a man in her neighborhood who made photos for a friend years ago. Maybe he can help! The man could and did help.

I told Wendy later I was glad this happened. Gave us an opportunity to learn again to work together. These events either drive us apart or bring us closer together.

Be be patient with each other. Learn to forgive yourself as much as you learn to forgive your Spouse.

I pray your Visa Journey will be as memorable for you as it has been for us.

I will be retired before I receive my noa2. You would think no prior marriage or kids with no criminal record would be a fast case. Not to mention I was prior military and already had a full background check. Lets go day 167 <_<

I'm so sad lately... we planned for me to be traveling 1st week of Sept. Now we are looking at Oct.
Feels so unfair :(

Did you put the e-request too? We received an email saying:

"Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action* within 45 days.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice , Request for Evidence, or Notice of Intent to Deny.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience."

I put in a request but all it said was, "We will review and process the request, expect a reply by August 3, 2017".
