I got so excited, my phone buzzed and said your case has been updated and I was like oh my god this is it! Then my heart just dropped when I seen the RFE. I'm obviously stressing now because it could be something as simple as a missed box we haven't checked or something more serious :(

This is an emotional rollercoaster that I just wanna get off already.

Sorry to hear you waited ages and then got an RFE. Once you get it back, do what needs to be done, and send it back asap and you'll be approved within a week. It took them 6 days to approve our RFE.  Fingers crossed 😊

Do you have to call the NVC to get case number or can I email them? Our NOA2 is dated 28th June. That's two weeks ago today. I don't know if it's too soon to enquire about it.

no call them, mine  was dated 6/26 and i called today and they gave me my case number.

:( I'm sorry you got an RFE after waiting for so long.  At least, it has been processed and you know that it's moving forward somehow.  Don't worry, it's gonna be an easy fix and you'll have your NOA2 soon after.

Oh my goodness! Our NOA2 was 6/10 and the NVC still hasn't received it!! Every time I call, I think, today has to be the day. But nnnoooooo.....:bonk:

I guess I have to wait until 6 weeks passes before I can complain, since that's the time frame they keep quoting. Then who do I call? USCIS?

I'm really really really hoping it's something simple and a quick fix & that we don't have to wait a month for our approval either, I really want to make it for Christmas. All I can do now is wait and hope the best

This is an emotional rollercoaster that I just wanna get off already.

Once you get approved, which will be quick for sure. Here's the next steps.

You Must follow this exact order:

  1. Started calling both the immigrant and non-immigrant NVC support lines two weeks after NOA2. Called every two days until we were told the case is received
  2. Called the NVC line that said our case was received every day until they give us a case an LND number.
  3. We waited until the case checker above said "READY". https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx
  4. We completed the DS160 online and printed the receipt. You need the receipt later.
  5. We Scheduled the medical over the phone. You will pay 300 pounds when you go to the medical.
  6. We submitted the readiness form online.
  7. We scheduled the interview online. this is when you will pay $265.00 and you will also have the option to pay for the carrier service at the same time (19 pounds). Make sure to schedule the interview 2 week after the medical because if the medical results are not at the embassy the day of your interview it can cause delays. Printed all of the confirmations as they are needed later. You need your LND number, the DS160 confirmation number, your passport number, your personal info to schedule. Choose option 2, the K option when asked.

You DON'T need a letter from the embassy to schedule anything or at the interview.

Read all of this too. It's where you find the phone numbers and links to do the above and other things you must understand to prep for it all:
