Yeah, I see your point, but since a very large % of applicants seem to have gone w no, for the stated reasons, I feel it's better I spend the extra few hours on re-doing it now than worrying about it later. Thanks for asking this question & your replies :-)

Does anyone know around how many days after interview it take in Rio to receive the passport?

Trying to decide with fiance whats financially best for us if return home or stay in Rio waiting for passport and the fly to USA

You need to wait around to pick it up... it clearly says due to strikes across the country the best thing to do is pick up the visa at the closest pick up spot which is very close to the consulate. This information is on the web page where you first sign up to register an account to schedule the interview. Did you have to wait to receive instructions to schedule your interview? How long did it take for your case to arrive at the consulate? Mine is on the way to Rio as of yesterday but said is was electronically sent.

Case number received from NVC today.  I tracked it and it's listed as "At NVC".  One step closer...

Every time I try to enter my case number it won't track it... do you have to fill out the ds160 first to track it? I got an email that said it was being sent already.

They have changed it to February 15th.

I just called USCIS and since I am now outside "normal processing times" (they received my petition on February 2nd) they submitted an inquiry for me.

We'll see what happens now  (if anything).

And I just posted this in the March 2017 filers group also because I wasn't paying attention to where I was  (pretty sure the March filers think I'm crazy now )

Cool...maybe now they'll start getting things moving...I'm just outside that date but my tier 2 rep was suppose to do an inquiry for me anyways...hopefully I hear new soon...he said 2 to 5 days to an email...hope you get good news...

USCIS needs to talk to the Apple repair people. My Macbook Pro had a screen issue, so I shipped it off for repair on July 10th at 6 PM. It was repaired and back in my hands this morning July 12th at 9 AM. I have never in my life experienced such speed.

Nope, we haven't filled out our DS160 yet and I can track it.  Go here:

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

And choose Immigrant Visa and then enter your Case Number, along with the CAPTCHA, and it should pop up and tell you the status.
