Omg! My fiancé just found out that NVC has assigned our case number!! Yay 😀 Now that we have a case number, what's next? Our case status says, "at NVC" Is it too early for me to fill-up my visa application DS-160? I've read somewhere on this thread that once we have the case number we can begin filling-up the form. What else can I do while we wait for it to reach the embassy? Do I have to wait for the instructions via mail/snail mail on what to send back to NVC - fir packet 3. So excited guys! And here's hoping that the rest of those waiting hear good news soon! 😀

Also, how do we send packet 3? Scanned copies of the docs they request & do we give the financial supporting docs at this stage? Thanks :-)

Hello,

Our case status on CEAC reads: Ready! :-) Does this mean it's time for me to start filling out my visa application, or do I have to wait for some letter with instructions? We have not got any email yet either.

So happy that my fiancé and me are finally gonna be together soon!! :-)

I'm sure packet three is what you take to interview with you. Some people get their packet three via email. It's just an email of what to take with you. Every embassy is Different. I think you take the affidavit of support i134 to interview at the embassy. However not everyone who has had their interview has been asked to show the affidavit but best to take it with you anyway just in case.

As long as you don't get stalled with the NVC stage, I still think you can make October 3rd.  From what I've read of the reviews the London interview is quick and they have a quick turn around in getting your passport back to you.  I know it's hard but don't lose hope because I still have hope for you.

That's what I'm panicking about, the NVC stage as its looking like its taking everybody over a month, if i got my approval this week then i could possibly (and I'm really stretching that 'possibly') be there for October but i'm honestly just losing hope now. We are still awaiting for a response of our enquiry we made last week. My flight is already booked for October so i just checked the airline and it looks like there isn't a charge to change the dates which was a relief.

It seems like only a couple of us are taking awhile at the NVC stage.  I read through the March filers over the weekend and many of them who have received their NOA2 already have their case number, even several people who were approved after me.  I think the standard processing time there is really 2-3 weeks, I don't know why me and @TexasHeartsIndia are stuck in a delay.  I understand your loss of hope for sure but I'm not going to stop hoping for you :D

I am glad to hear that you won't have to pay a change fee if you do have to change your flight.

And, as I was typing this I was on hold with NVC.  I got through to an agent as I was about to hit submit and decided to wait for the usual "it can take up to 6 weeks to receive".  However, I had the opposite today "Your case was received on July 7th, please wait 2-3 weeks for us to assign a case number".  What a relief!  And I'm sure you'll be receiving the same relief soon!!!

Yeah, I'm wondering if there were some layoffs at USCIS around the beginning of the year that messed up February somehow since so many people from March are already getting approvals.

Of course I'm going to ignore the 2-3 weeks and call tomorrow :D  As soon as we have the LND number, I'm going to have my fiance call and schedule his medical for as early in August as possible so then he can have his interview later in August if there are dates still available.  Assuming everything goes alright with that, then I'll buy our tickets once he has his passport back in hand.

Right now I'm planning on flying into Heathrow on September 30th and the both of us flying back to the states on October 6th.  If some of us UK filers are still in the UK during that time it might be fun to have a meet up!
