Yeah i was concerned for delays and stuff. And I was worried about booking something and then having the added stress on of trying to reschedule as well as the stress from this process. I'm expecting something soon for us in the mail for our rfe. They recieved it 22nd June. I was originally hoping to have everything sorted by August/September to get married November. But we are still at this stage right now. I hope things speed up for you. 😊

Approval should hopefully be soon for you if they have received your rfe response on the 22nd! fingers crossed for you.

how about booking the venue provisionally, making sure you can easily rebook just in case? i think november is still doable for you. london does things pretty fast after the case gets to them.

packet 3 is taking a month (or more!) at the moment here in the UAE. don't know why the hold up though, packet 3 is literally just a copy and paste email list of instructions with PDF attachments. the only personalized info on it is literally the case number in the subject line! plus this is the UAE, there are not that many K1s here, unlike say in Manila. it is so frustrating. =(

I hope so. Thank you. :)

I think once we get the approval my fiance is going to call the venue and see what is what then. Make some further plans. I've been a nervous wreck throughout so far. 😅

Ah that sucks. They like to keep us all waiting. Especially when it comes to snail mail. And snail email! Fingers crossed for us both. 💌

Hi there

Has anyone had to change their wedding date? We don't have a date per say yet. It was going to be around November time, but we are waiting on our RFE response and it's delayed us a bit. And I've heard you could wait up to 6 weeks for the nvc? Then it has to go to embassy (London for me) Then medical and interview so my fiance and I have said it could he January. We haven't set a date yet because I was scared of delays happening. And we got one. Rfe. As well as the backlogs at the uscis. Does anyone else not have a date atm? We have a venue we love and have visited it and spoken to the venue people as well. With wanting to get married on a weekday they said there would be lots of availability to pick once we got further ahead. I've also read that the ds160 form asks for an estimated date. Anyone else like us? :)

we don't have a date yet.  we thought about setting one before but decided against it.  it was good that we didn't as it will add to the stress level.  haha! :) we decided to have 2 weddings instead, a small, simple courthouse ceremony in the US (90 days is not enough to plan for a nice wedding when you don't know when day 1 will be, at least not for me), then a church wedding in the Philippines (so we can plan out the details).

We just plan to get married in the courthouse soon after she arrives in Chicago.  Then we can plan something without the stress of a deadline.

Thank you...its just getting really hard...his depression has turned into a kinda pushing away...he says he feels stuck and stagnated...like he cant have a life or plan anything...oh and congrats

I completely understand your feelings. Try to give each other love, support and be patient. I did not see my fiancé since February and I know i should wait at least till September( because even I told him in May to get police certificate, he just did on June 28..... and it takes 1 month!!!) Our case was approved on June 12, NVC received at June 23, case ready on June 30!!!!. Your will received your NOA2 very soon!!!!! I am positive. So it just take a longer than suppose to be, unfortunately......

Congratulation!!!!!  May I ask you? Is it Ella scheduled interview date by herself or US embassy gave her a date of interview. I am a little bit worry, because my fiance request his police certificate only couple days ago and it takes 1 month!!! So should be ready on July 28 hopefully. If we can choose a day it will  be perfect for us, I am thinking that  best time will be in mid of August, if days for interview will  be available.

You can definitely choose a date.  On 6/22 the earliest available date was 8/02.  Once you complete the DS-160, pay the embassy fee, and you enter the receipt number (we paid in the RSB site), then you will be given a calendar option on the CEAC site.  The calendar options allow you to pick later dates, but 40 days out was the earliest that we saw.

I hope that helps!

That's cool. 😁 my family and friends can only come one time for wedding celebrations so we are doing the full shebang. And with all the extra paperwork after, I won't know when i would be able to fly back to England to see everyone to have anything back here. That will happen eventually. Like an 'after wedding party' 😁😁. Just after all the other paperwork is done. We are all walking paperwork for a while. 😂

Thank you so much. I have another question. Do you wait for package from embassy to be received or you start as soon as you get READY in NVC? I checked US embassy site, they recommended to wait until package arrive. Thanks again for your help, I wish you all the best!

If you need to know how to get a PCC for India, ask your fiancé to visit the passport India website. There are very clear step-by-step instructions on how to apply for one and once he is done w that step, he will need to take his confirmation pg along w his passport to the passport office he applied at online. In case police clearance has not been done for his residential addresss, this step will be completed by a police officer after his 1st visit to the passport office. Final step is once the clearance is done, he will go back to the registered passport office and get the PCC along w 3 stamps in his passport.

I personally completed this exact process while waiting for our NOA2, and as your fiancé is in Delhi also, it should be the same.

To give you an estimated timeline, it took me about 3 weeks to get this all done.

Also, if he has lived anywhere else for more than 6 months I believe, ages 16 and up, he will need to get PCC from that country too. This was the case for me, so I got both my PCCs a couple of months back.

Hope this helps you guys :-) All the best!

Does he need to return to the original passport office that issued his passport to obtain the police clearance?

He got his passport when he was living in Chennai, but he moved to Pune 8 months ago. Do you know if you can go to a different city than the one which originally issued the passport?

We gor rfe in May, too. They received it in May 31st and we got approval June 7th.

They have had my evedence for over 11 but only 7 business days.   My RFE was for a cmplaint and fibnal disposition on a breaking of a restraining order from 20 years ago.   The county and local courts destroyed the file and so I sent s certified letter stating such from the local courthouse where the case was heard 20 years ago.

Now I guess they are looking at my rap sheet and who knows what they will decide.

Wait for the email from the Embassy to the beneficiary.  It comes very quickly.
