Okay but remember you need to select IMMIGRANT VISA  from the drop down box. If you select NONIMMIGRANT VISA  it will say that your case number is invalid.

Use the Immigrant Visa under Application Type

Thanks again guys. You are absolutely right. I was checking it under Non-Immigrant and that is why it kept saying invalid.  It is now showing at NVC!

Yeah, there will be another letter from NVC,then you will have a case number, or you can call NVC to get the number if you want to get it sooner

I JUST called NVC and they said: "Not received yet". It's been 20 days since NOA2 for me, so in 2 days I will have crossed into waiting longer than the average 21 days. It's just my luck to wait longer than average at every stage of the game :)

Problem is, my fiance in the UK has gotten rid of all her stuff, quit her job and it looks like we still have a couple months left. The longer these government goofballs take, the more it's costing us. I really hope they get into motion soon.

Same here! My noa2 notice date was on 5 June,I have been waiting for over 20 days now

Oh wow okay. Because I noticed some people say that their case number was assigned the same day it was received

For ours, it was assigned within four days. We had a weekend so I guess otherwise it would have assigned the next day. But we kept calling them every morning so not sure if that had any effect. :D If it were me, I'd call every morning or at least every other day. Don't worry though. NVC processes things much faster than the USCIS. NVC might take a couple of weeks whereas USCIS had many of us wait for many months. Might I add some are still waiting on their NOA2.

Welcome to the thread! It's nice to see another Indian beneficiary - and from Delhi, too! I am the US petitioner; my fiance is from Kerala but lives in Delhi. I took a peak at your timeline and we are just a few days apart. Our NOA2 is June 10th. We were hoping his interview would be sometime in mid-July but it seems the NVC is taking a long time to process the incoming petitions. I called for the first time on Friday morning and again yesterday (Monday) afternoon. Apparently the average is around 3 weeks right now. My plan is to keep calling every other day or so. I haven't seen anything about giving them our email addresses. All of that information is on the forms that they have, so I don't understand why they would need us to give it again. But then again, nothing about this process is logical...

As for biometrics, I am not sure, but it would seem to me that they would need to be done again... but I could be completely wrong. Maybe post on the India embassy forum on VJ and see if someone who has gone through the process can answer.

Good luck to you and your fiance!

Yep, looks like we are just 5 days apart on our NOA2! I'm sure our cases would be received soon at the NVC. Hang in there :-)

Thanks for reaching out and the tips. All the best to you both as well!

approved on June 8th, received in the mail on the 12th, when we called yesterday they had just got it, so yours should be soon!

Thank you! I called today (Tuesday at 4:30PM) did not wait response at all. The lady told me the case number and invoiced.

Hate asking this because I know the answer is probably "it varies" but does anyone know the average time it takes for an embassy to email (in our since Rio doesn't physically mail them) the instructions once they have the info from the NVC?

It definitely varies! With me for Abu Dhabi, 3 weeks to months!!! some people have waited 3 months for an email that never came. And then, you call the embassy and either they have no idea what the next step is or they say to just wait. i think for us, the embassy part is more uncertain than the USCIS part. =(
