Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if we have to get our biometrics done if we have already done this less than 2 years ago for a visitor visa?

Also, still waiting on NVC to acknowledge that they have received our case, but am not sure if we need to call them to give them our email IDs. Feel like I might have read this somewhere...

Thanks! And good luck to us all :-)

Welcome to the thread! It's nice to see another Indian beneficiary - and from Delhi, too! I am the US petitioner; my fiance is from Kerala but lives in Delhi. I took a peak at your timeline and we are just a few days apart. Our NOA2 is June 10th. We were hoping his interview would be sometime in mid-July but it seems the NVC is taking a long time to process the incoming petitions. I called for the first time on Friday morning and again yesterday (Monday) afternoon. Apparently the average is around 3 weeks right now. My plan is to keep calling every other day or so. I haven't seen anything about giving them our email addresses. All of that information is on the forms that they have, so I don't understand why they would need us to give it again. But then again, nothing about this process is logical...

As for biometrics, I am not sure, but it would seem to me that they would need to be done again... but I could be completely wrong. Maybe post on the India embassy forum on VJ and see if someone who has gone through the process can answer.

Good luck to you and your fiance!

almost 3 weeks We got our noa2 but nothing from NVC yet.Is it normal

Our letter arrived while my fiance was visiting me in the UK so not sure how long the physical copy took, but my NOA2 was 30th May and my letter from NVC was dated 21st June, so 3 weeks in total for me.

Let's go straight to the point.

1- Yes, alien number in NOA2

2- It refers to people claimed as dependent when you fill taxes.

3- See 2.

4- Check yes and then in page 7 for additional information put something like "N/A K1 visa application". There's a couple of good threads about this topic on here if you search...

Good luck!

I'd read elsewhere to leave the A-number blank for the beneficiary on the I-134 form. Can anyone else who's completed the form confirm if this should be left blank or should be the number on the NOA2?

Not disputing your answer, I just want to be extra sure :)

That's cool with me. The more certain we can be we are doing it right, the better.

I know for a fact the alien number in the NOA2, or RFE if you got that first, is the A number they use to identify the beneficiary for immigration process, and we'll be ask out for that later on AOS. But it's ok if it's left blank in the i134 I think, cause I've also seen people saying that's what they did...

Hey, thanks for this call-out. I'm hoping to not make the same mistake. I'm not totally clear on what to do though -- can anyone clarify?

I received an email today confirming the NVC will forward my case to the US Embassy in my fiancee's country. The email states:

Based on your experience, are you suggesting I wait until I have instructions from the embassy to have my fiancee fill out her DS-160? Or is it okay to go ahead and have my fiancee (the beneficiary)

Also, this email refers to it as a "nonimmigrant visa application", but you say:

What did you mean by this? I only see an option for DS-160 nonimmigrant visa on the CEAC website.

Thanks for any help you can provide! Really just wondering if my fiancee should go ahead and fill out the DS-160 while we wait for instructions from the embassy to contact us or wait.

From what @WayneAdoresWendy said, I believe the Brazilian process is a bit different. I triple-checked, and the only moment when I'm given options like "I have received packet from Embassy and need to apply for Immigrant Visa" or "Other" is at the scheduling website.

My timeline so far is:

- 06/22: emails to petitioner from NVC with subjects "Notice regarding your immigration visa case" and "Immigration visa case has been expedited"

- 06/23: Filled the DS-160 here. No fee to be paid yet.

- 06/27: email from Brazilian consulate, sent to petitioner and beneficiary. Subject is the NVC number case and beneficiary's name, with directions to schedule the interview. In the email, they explain that you will have to choose the option "I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment" and pay the fee only after registering at this scheduling website. And that you will need your NVC case number and the DS-160 number (so that's why you fill the DS-160 before).

I wasn't able to schedule my interview yet. It says my case is not ready. I guess it takes some time for the system to "sync".

Hello,

I got my case number from NVC today (NOA2 was 6/09/2017). Can I already check the status of my case or do I have to apply for the visa first before I can check the status. Thank you!

You can check at the link below. You don't need to apply first.

If it is still at NVC it will say "AT NVC

Okay but remember you need to select IMMIGRANT VISA  from the drop down box. If you select NONIMMIGRANT VISA  it will say that your case number is invalid.
