Me too!! 147 days of waiting! Still nothing :(

Sorry we are not checking VJ much, makes it a bit harder, i'm happy for everyones approvals, is just 147 days is way too much. And see others approved makes me a bit sad. Looks like never will be our moment

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if we have to get our biometrics done if we have already done this less than 2 years ago for a visitor visa?

Also, still waiting on NVC to acknowledge that they have received our case, but am not sure if we need to call them to give them our email IDs. Feel like I might have read this somewhere...

Thanks! And good luck to us all :-)

I'm at 146 days. I have been trying to stay off the forum so my stress will not be so bad lol. I think USCIS rushes to get through 50% of petitions then takes their time on the last half just so they can say they get to most petitions by xx days.

I'm at 124 days today & like both of you I'm just sat here like :( I had a little cry to myself last night when i asked my fiance 'so is our letter there today' with a big smile on my face & I got the usual response. I had a really good gut feeling yesterday that it was going to be our day but nope. At this point I feel like we are never going to get this letter, which is ridiculous because I know we are.

I wish they would update the dates they are currently working on to at least Feb 15th so that you guys waiting over 140 days could put a request in for an update!

I know, everyday is like, maybe today? and nothing...

We called USCIS again yesterday, and my bf lost his temper a bit with the agent, is just too much.

The only thing we know is we are in background check at the FBI since June the 5th. We asked if thats normal, and the guy laughed at us, saying there have been cases stuck in the background check for 2 years! 2 years!!! and there my bf exploded... :ranting:

We have contacted the congressman again, and this time he asked us to send all the papers and docs, so he can make an inquiry.

Maybe someone here can help us with some info about the background check, is this the 1st step, the last one before USCIS make a decision? How long can take? any help will be highly appreciated... We have 2 years difference (33 me / 35 him), we met here in Spain, while he was teaching English, we lived together for 6 months before he returned to USA... pretty normal couple in my opinion.

The only thing i can see is that my dad is a former diplomat, I had diplomatic passport growing up, and we travelled a lot, but I would not say that should be a delay...

I dont know, this is so frustrating!!!!

I would think that they would work on everything else while the background check is being performed. So that when it comes back it will be ready to process.

How nice of him to laugh and say your petition could potentially sit there for 2 years  Fingers crossed that they are just waiting for that last bit of info and then you can be approved this week. I would suspect that the background check is the last part after they have decided your good to go but who knows this is USCIS after all

I am trying to fill out the I-134 (Affidavit of Support) with my fiance and I have a few questions if any of you who's already completed this form could please advise on how you went about it?

1) They asked for the beneficiary's A number - Is this the alien number found on the NOA2, on top of the beneficiary's name?

2) Did you guys check 'wholly dependent on me for support' or 'partially dependent on me for support'? (question 21, part 3)
I'm the beneficiary and I will be joining my petitioner fiance with SOME money of my own, but we have concluded that he will be responsible for the majority, such as rent and household expenses. He feels like he is the man and should be responsible for that, especially since us beneficiaries won't have any income for a while. Obviously if I wanted to buy something I would just pay for it with my own money and not expect him to pay for every single thing! Would this be considered 'wholly' or 'partially'?

3) If we check partially dependent, will the beneficiary have to provide documents of THEIR income/assets and things?

4) What about question 38 where it asks if you intend/ do NOT intend to make specific contributions to the support of your beneficiary?  (question 38, part 3) This question is really confusing because if you select 'intend', it asks you to list exact details of what they will be, how much, etc.

Let's go straight to the point.

1- Yes, alien number in NOA2

2- It refers to people claimed as dependent when you fill taxes.

3- See 2.

4- Check yes and then in page 7 for additional information put something like "N/A K1 visa application". There's a couple of good threads about this topic on here if you search...

Good luck!

Thanks in advance!

I did this for Ecuador. You can! I made a big mistake that has cost me a delay and $100's . I urge you to be a little patient. The Packet will come in 24-48 hours.
