Are all embassies using the new electronic submission system? Or only select ones? Has anyone seen a list of embassies using the electronic submissions?

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html seems to be the list that matches countries of people with electronic cases, at the moment.

Yeah, it did. Thank you. They just said they will mail us a decision. No dates given to how long it could be, but I've heard it's within 60 days?

It'll be within 2.5 weeks I'm pretty sure :)

gi guys, two quick questions...please help if anybody has any idea about these.

1) the bank statement that we need to prepare for the interview - is this in letter type (kind of like an employment letter for example) but just a bank letter that mentions your account details, when it was opened, how much the closing balance is and signed by the the manager? or is this kind of the the statement you get which shows day to day transactions, kind of like the one you usually get sent at the end of each month? we are confused, which one should we get?

2) transfer of funds to the US - i am looking to wire transfer my savings to my fiance's account before my arrival. anybody planning to do the same? any tips / rules we should be aware of? tax implications? will this not raise any flags? what to say as purpose for the funds so that it is not viewed negatively by whoever may be "watching" etc?

your inputs would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!

1) this is a requested letter from the bank. Almost like a status letter, it's not a bank statement like the month end one

2) good question- I think this will be a good idea for documented proof of relationship/ seriousness if done befor the interview however I'll wait for feedback from others on implications

1. I have been instructed from several sources that financial records of any kind ARE NOT NEEDED, if the petitioners income passes the 125% Poverty Level.

2. I have never had any money worth mentioning. If it were me, I would have my Fiancé bring cash or certified funds from the bank in their country.

Best Wishes

Does anyone know what the difference between the DS-160 and DS-260?  For the Colombian embassy in Bogotá the embassy requires us to fill out the DS-260 but it seems that most of the February files are filling out the DS-160 for their respective embassies.

For K1s we have to fill in the DS-160, even with general info in my Embassy website talking about the DS-260 too. That's because they use a generic info page for all Immigrant Visas, like the spousal ones, but we are really non immigrant with immigrant intent.

I don't know if I'm making sense with my explanation, but it's the DS-160 what we all have to do. :)

Hello! I'm new to this site & since we recently got our NOA2, went ahead and updated our timeline here. I know it can be trying, but hang in there! It comes out of nowhere! Lol :-)

I have a question that some of you might have the answer to: Does the petitioner need to send his I-134 or any other supporting financial document to the NVC prior to the beneficiary's interview, or do these documents only need to be sent to the beneficiary?

Thanks for your inputs! This is a helpful forum :-)

We are filing through Guayaquil Ecuador.

GYQ - Consolate

668 is the day your case was created on. So it was created on June 17th. I just found out from outside source. Could be wrong though. But in my case, it is actually accurate!

These documents are sent to the beneficiary and then taken to the interview, along with other paperwork, by the beneficiary.  The NVC is just a temporary stop for your petition, they assign a case number and then forward the petition along to the appropriate embassy, they don't receive any documents from the beneficiary directly during their processing.

Just called the NVC to ask them if they've received my file from the USCIS, i got my NOA2 on the 6th of June. They haven't received it yet unfortunately. What's taking so long?

20 days (June 3rd) is the average wait before received. You would be in the early received category if it was received today. It's not taking long. :)

Hi February family. Does anyone have an idea of how long NVC takes to send petitions to Embassy after assigning a case number? NVC received my petition on June 19. I called and obtained my case number on June 21. Now just wondering how long they will hold it before they send it out to my Embassy in Johannesburg.
