Hi

The check hasn't cleared.  He is adamant that he used the correct address.  He also said that he had to put a return address on there, so he would have received the packet back if it was returned or was filed incorrectly.

Hi

Do you mean the receipt to confirm postage or the receipt from the office?

When I asked him where he sent it to, he just said it was the address that was provided on the USCIS webiste, so I'm guessing it was the Dallas one?

I feel so helpless!  I really wish he would have managed the process a lot better instead of relying on someone else for advice!  Lesson learnt...

It sounds like the packet hasn't reached them if the cheque hasn't been cashed & yeah the receipt for the postage, you could see if it ever reached them. When you send the petition you usually get an email confirmation and then you receive the NOA1 letter in the post a week later. I'm sorry this has happened to you guys. :(

It's not your fault lol

I've literally been blaming him everyday because I have noone else to pin the blame down onto!  I told him to get a handle on it from day one, and not rely on someone else to tell him what to do!  I trust that he's sent it to the right place, but can't understand why we haven't heard anything.  I don't see what more we can do without a receipt or case number...

Just sucks, because we've been together for a while now and it's getting too hard and it's difficult now to try and see each other every couple of months.  I'm leaving work at the end of this month, so will just head to MN on my current ESTA.  I guess i'll just have to do a 90 day stay each trip until this is sorted!  That I can deal with especially as I'll be able to go back home to my family every 3 months, but not being able to work will be tough...

We filed with Rapid Visa last week, so I'm hoping they're able to get it through... fingers crossed!

Hi guys

Hoping someone on here may be able to help!

My fiance who lives in Minneapolis (MN) filed our packet in February 2017.  To this date, we still haven't even received notification to say that they have received the packet!!  And I am going out of my mind!!

Every time we call the USCIS, we are told that there is a backlog and that they can't give us any further information without an application number.

I have tried to look into it further by checking processing times at the different offices.  Unfortunately due to my fiance's laid back nature, he has no clue where he even sent it to, so I am at a loss there.

We have now filed again this month through a company called Rapid Visa.

I was just wondering is anyone else was experiencing the same problem as I am?

Thanks

Jaya

did they receive your payment?if you found that they received your money, that means they have your case but maybe you just missed their letter by snail mail

I just confirmed with him now, and he said it was a money order from the post office that was sent, and not a check.

Jaya,

I will give you my opinion. This is based on you saying your Fiance has a laid back personality. I do to. But when I comes to something serious, I am very opposite. In the K1 Process, you have 3 basic options if you find it necessary to refile. Each option has a different level of difficulty and risk.

1. Do it all yourself. Even with the help of VJ Members the difficulty and risk is very high if he is not serious and on top of the process.

2. Assistance "RapidVisa". We used Rapid Visa. I personally would have never done this alone. Rapid Visa is AWESOME. With that said, they are only helping with "some" paperwork. You still have much to learn, research and prepare. Difficulty medium. Risk is still very high if he doesn't get more involved.

3. Hire a lawyer. Much higher expense. Risk can still be very high if you do not hire a competent lawyer. Lawyers also have the potential to make things harder than necessary.

I have a serious comment for you. You and others may not appreciate this comment. This process is extremely difficult. If your Fiance is not pushing for your Visa on a daily basis, says a lot to me about his commitment to the relationship. This process will try every part of your soul. Even parts you did not know you had. I really wish you the best of luck. We will always be here for you.

Just got an email and am a bit confused. I called the NVC three or so days ago, and they said they hadn't gotten to our case yet. We weren't even in the system, supposedly. I want to update my timeline, because it keeps me on track/sane. What exactly is this (consulate received?) the email that states:

Dear Madam:

The IV Unit in Buenos Aires received the I-129F petition that you filed for your fiancée. Please find attached the instructions and information to apply for the visa...

So funny. Your consulate has received your Fiance Petition. You are ready to begin the actual Visa Application. I just filled our her Visa Application and Scheduled her Interview and I have not received that letter yet.

I believe you need to call NVC and get your case number. You can not move forward without that information

Jaya,

I know this group will give you all the help they can.

If you have any questions about RapidVisa, feel free to send me a personal message and I will try to answer. I have never questioned my use of RapidVisa. I will be using them to help with AOS as well.

@JayaP one more way to check whether your package is delivered or not. check the tracking number which your fiance mailed to them. Only 2 options he would use-USPS or Fedrex. So it's very easy to do the tracking.

Me and my fiance apply for this visa by ourselves, I have been doing tons of reseaches by myself, and my fiancé uses to be not an organized person, but what he can involve is like keep bugging uscis, nvc and find a way to reach those people to get updates,we separate our job and work together,I would say it would be better for you to learn about the process, so even you applied it again, better to study about this visa at the same time.Good luck;)

I think the number is in the subject line...3 letters at the beginning and super long? Ugh, I wish whomever I spoke to the other day would have told me this. Either way, yay!

I have not received the email yet. But here is what the number looks like.

We are filing through Guayaquil Ecuador.

GYQ2017668001

GYQ - Consolate

2017 - Year

668 - Crazy date

001 - Number of applications for that day to that embassy.

I've seen people saying that due to the electronic system to process files at the NVC, some agents are unable to see those petitions. Maybe that happened to you.

But the good news is your case is already ready at the Embassy, yay. So you can forget about NVC now and keep moving. :)

Good luck!
