I just Discovered this forum! So excited to read everyone's updates.

about us:

filed: 2/7/2017

NOA : 2/10 by text and letter

today: have no idea what's next. Called USCIS they said just "wait ".

anyone have any updates what's next?

question: I'm about to file my income tax for 2016. I owe the IRS $10k would this in any way make me look bad? I'm hesitant to pay the full $ upfront but rather make monthly payment (my withholdings were too small in 2016 plus uninsured penalty ). Any thoughts? When does the I-134 need to be filed (proof of support)?

Oh wow you are from Moldova! I was born in Moldova as well now Im living in Romania! And we are too February Filers :) (Im beneficiary)

What does "others" mean? Declined? If it's not approved and not a RFE, then is it declined?

I am trying to keep busy by working lots and I am also moving in with my mom next weekend so that I can save money for the next few months/ get rid of all my things... So I have been busy packing and sorting through all my belongings.  Luckily I am going to Dallas to visit my fiance in 3 weeks for 11 days and we are also going to a music festival with camping, so I am excited for that (we met at a music festival so it's something we both love doing).

I am kind of in the same boat as you for visits.  If I get my NOA2 in May or early June, I will wait until I move there..... But if I'm one of the unlucky ones who must wait over 4 months, then I will probably go visit again at the end of June/ beginning of July.  It's hard to decide how long to wait to book the trip though, as flights can get more expensive.

Good luck on your vaccinations!! I am going on the 25th to my dr to check if I need any, according to a Canadian visa doctor site, I only need MMR and tetanus/ diphtheria (I've had both) and then varicella (but I've had the chicken pox) and a flu shot if it's flu season (which it's not).  So hopefully I should be okay.

I hope some Feb. Filers will start hearing something at the end of the month!

Right now I'm just in waiting mode.  I know with this process there is a lot of hurry up and then wait but I'm just ready for my fiance to be here so we can start our lives together.

I just got back from a 12 day visit to the UK, partially for work and partially to see my fiance.  Luckily, I will be going back in a few weeks again, mostly for work this time but I will have some time with my fiance as well.  That trip will likely be our last time together until it's time for him to come here.  While not necessary, I think it will be good for his interview that we will have had 2 more visits together since filing our application.  This will give us a total of 5 visits together in under 2 years.  Once he has his visa, I plan on flying over to the UK, helping him finish up packing and his life there, and then traveling back to the states together.  Hopefully, after my trip in May, that will only be another 4 months but you never know with this process.

Hi Silvia Marie and Feb filers :)

Like everyone else, I'm trying not to think about how long it's been since we applied and how long it will be until we receive approval. I went to Delhi to see him for 10 days where we had an official engagement ceremony! (The profile pic is from the ceremony) It was the most amazing day of my life! The ceremony is part of his Catholic-Indian tradition and I was so happy that we were able to have one, especially for his family, who won't be able to attend the wedding. Unfortunately, we won't be able to see one another again before he moves here :( It's just too expensive while saving money for a wedding, visa fees, and moving expenses - not to mention trying to have some savings to fall back on while he looks for a job for who knows how long. His mom keeps asking me why I didn't visit for a month... If I didn't have little things called "responsibilities" and "work" and "bills" I would be there now!!

The thing I never considered about long distance relationships until now is that fun things, beautiful moments, activities I used to love have all lost their excitement. Every time I enjoy something, I think about how much I wish he were here to enjoy it with me. It stings and breaks my heart every time. I've never been one to cry easily but I find myself crying from joy or simply missing him fairly often. I try to get together with friends to distract myself and he is buried in work - but thank God for technology! I don't know what I would do without our daily chats and frequent video chats!

I'm so grateful for these blogs. I love hearing others' stories and progress. It's very encouraging!

My fiancé and I have been taking turns visiting each other during this waiting time. No issues at the USA point of entry.

I'm expecting a NOA2 on the first or second week of May.

Hello Silvia Marie,

It's nice to meet you online. I have a flight scheduled to Ecuador on May 27th. I'll be in Ecuador for a month and I hope that we receive the NOA2 before I leave. I really hope and pray that the interview will be scheduled in June while I'm there. My time has been spent trying to gather all necessary documents and complete the Affidavit of Support.  We had a huge problem trying to get my fiance's police report in Spain. We had the forms completed and all IDs notarized and Apostilled. I just couldn't find a way to send the $3.92 fee (3.70 euro).  The bank employees had no idea how to send an international bank transfer.  It was so frustrating.  Get this... I asked a friend of mine to see if her bank could send it for me. She went and they asked her if she had met this man (my fiance).  I guess they were concerned about me being catfished (or tricked into sending him money).  hahaha...  My question is why would they be worried about this? I was only trying to send $3.92. We were never able to send the fee, so we had to figure out another way to do so.

We should have done this in the beginning...but Jorge, my fiance, got in touch with his sister that still lives in Spain. She spoke to a Lawyer and was able to get his permission (legally) to request the document. I was so worried, but it came through. She was able to get the report and it was emailed to us. Now, it's just wait time; and boy, I am sure waiting... with everything going on, I went and broke my ankle four weeks ago and had to have surgery. I've been out of work this last month and it's driving me crazy just sitting here. So, I have a lot of time to think about this and stress myself out...haha. We will all get through this...I'm confident!

I wish you good luck on your case and your future.

Take care,

Cindy

I am totally with you on this as that's how I feel. However my mind is more stressed out on him coming here and if /how we will squeeze into a tight schedule with both of us pursuing  our careers /education at same time. I'm still in grad school and he will need to go to school first to learn English and then for his speciality. In my last year of grad school (in 2years) I won't have control over my internship placement so we may have to live apart for a year until I finish if he is still enrolled in s progessional priogram but I have to move (if I get sent to a place like Alaska for internship). It's hard to plan for these things (much less enjoy every day's joy) when he's not here and so much is on

my plate (wedding planning, work, school) while he totally feels helpless about not being in the states to help me.

I learned what vaccines my fiancee needs by going to the web page of one of the panel physicians in Canada. They listed the vaccines required by age right on the website.

Apparently in Moldova there is only one place where they do the medical exams, and that is the "International Organization for Migration," which is located in Chisinau.

Their address (in Romanian) is

Organizaţia Internaţională pentru Migraţie Chişinău
Strada Ciuflea 36/1
MD-2001
Chişinău

Republica Moldova

Phone number: +373-22-232-515 or 233-188

E-mail addresses are chisinauops@iom.int or chisinaumed@iom.int

I bet if your fiance calls or e-mails them he can find out what vaccines he will need to have. I found the above information on the website for the US Embassy in Moldova.

https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/laws-regs/vaccination-immigration/revised-vaccination-immigration-faq.html.  That is the general list of vaccines needed, but apparently you only need certain ones based on your age.

http://www.visadoctor.ca/usa.  That is where I found the list of immunizations needed for me, but as I am Canadian, I'm not sure if the list is the same for everyone.   I had people answer me in the Canadian forum that the vaccines they had for their medical was sufficient for AOS (ie they didn't have to get more in the US).
