Several times. Each time about the case tracker being broken. The first time, they ignored my actual request about the case tracker and just asked for an update on my case and then I was approval (NOA2) 7 days later. Then a few days ago I reached out to my congressman again about the case tracker.

Thank you!

You're welcome. If everyone with an approval in hand wrote to their congressman about the broken tracker, perhaps they would fix it? No idea, but worth a try!

Anyone waiting longer than expected for the NVC to supply a case number? Received NOA2 on June 1st, called NVC today and still nothing. So frustrating :(

Hello there, I received my NOA2 on May 17, and the NVC sent a letter to me June 9th with the date on their letter of received June 8th, now on the NOA2 they said it would take from 2 to 4 weeks so if everything is correct you should receive your letter July 8th or if not you can send them an email to review at nvcinquiryATstate.gov

It took four weeks from NOA2 to receive our case number from the NVC.

So they weren't kidding when they said things would move quickly at the NVC stage.

We received notice that the case was received by the NVC on 6/16/17, and on 6/19/17 I checked CEAC and it said case was "Ready" in Montreal.

So time to get Packet 3 done.

Hello, guys. A little update. We called NVC today, around the time they first open, and we actually got through this time!! They said our petition was received on last Friday and told us to call back in two weeks. Has it really taken two weeks for NVC to assign a case number for any of your petitions? I was thinking of calling them back on Wednesday again. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Our case was also received June 3rd, and we are yet to get our case number. We've been told our case is being processed electronically which may be part of the delay, but just a heads up that it can actually take the amount of time they quote you. There are quite a few who are waiting a long time for their case numbers, but hopefully yours will be quicker.

FYI: I guess waiting a long time for the NVC case number pays off: Our case is now "ready" and we just got our case number yesterday. 👌🏼

Like @glmg21 already mentioned, some countries/embassies are using the newer electronical processing instead of sending the cases via snail mail. Well, in our it's Frankfurt and it took them probably that long to assign a case number because they had to scan everything for electronical processing.

Have a wonderful day guys...I hope for more NOA's and NVC case numbers to come.

I believe so yes, I cant remember where i seen it but a letter from the US citizens employer was required, even if it isn't it's good to have in your packet just as extra proof of employment.

Form I134 instructions, page 3.

If you are using income, you definitely need to prove your current situation with the letter of your employer. People use paystubs too, but the instructions ask for the letter.
