We are scheduled for an interview on August 21st. I just got my employment letter for my i-134. I am currently making 25,056 a year, is this enough income for me and my fiance? Just want to make sure we won't need a joint sponsor.

Poverty guidelines for 2 persons in family state currently $16,240 are needed. Sometimes they ask for the 125% of that amount, that is $20,300, so you are good to go now and for AOS later on :)

Hello, guys. A little update. We called NVC today, around the time they first open, and we actually got through this time!! They said our petition was received on last Friday and told us to call back in two weeks. Has it really taken two weeks for NVC to assign a case number for any of your petitions? I was thinking of calling them back on Wednesday again. Any thoughts are appreciated!

In our case it really took them 2 full weeks to assign a case number. Actually it was even longer. Our case was received on June 3, which is a Saturday, and we got our case number just today. Therefore, 16 days. I hope this is just a rare case and it won't happen to anyone here.

Thanks for the info! :) I definitely hope it was a rare case. I can't wait anymore. :( I just got done telling my fiancé how much I miss him and how I can't sleep. :(:( This process needs to end soon. There has already been so much of waiting, frustration and anxiety.

Our case was also received June 3rd, and we are yet to get our case number. We've been told our case is being processed electronically which may be part of the delay, but just a heads up that it can actually take the amount of time they quote you. There are quite a few who are waiting a long time for their case numbers, but hopefully yours will be quicker.

I know right! That's what I initially thought to myself. I've been sitting herer for the past couple of hours trying to accept the fact that it might take two weeks and that i might have to wait some more time before seeing my fiance. It's so depressing.

Trilobyte, we both got approval the same day or time frame as I remember. Have you heard anything from NVC yet?

I guess I will still call every other day at least to see if the case is processed. Sorry to hear you guys are still waiting. This process has no transparency, I just want it to end soon!

No, but I wasn't expecting to. I thought they send a letter snail mail, so I would have to proactively call to know more. Maybe I am wrong though.
