Neither.  I called to get the case number and then just checked the status multiple times per day.  I wasnt even smart enough to think of the question.

After the status changed the two numbers were at the bottom.

Just wanted to give my experience with NVC. So I had called the NVC and got their message that the number I called was for immigrant visas. Thinking that a K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, I called the non-immigrant NVC line (603-334-0888) and did not experience wait times like some have posted here. I think the longest I've waited was 2-3 minutes. On the immigrant visa line, I couldn't get connected at times. It was only after I got my case number and tried to enter it into their tracking system that I realized they classify k1 visas as immigrant visas. They have a different case number numbering system for immigrant vs non-immigrant visas. My point is you can call the non-immigrant visa NVC number to get your status if you're having trouble with the immigrant visa NVC number.

I think an important thing to consider is; the K2s are included in the K1 petition. You do not submit separate I-129f for K1 and K2.  Thus, when the petition is approved, it is approved for the K1 and K2. Likewise, once a case is assigned at NVC, the case is related to the petition which includes both the K1 and K2.

Or, perhaps not....

Did they email it to you? I'm another one who has been waiting awhile for NVC to receive (will be a month on Monday).

You can call NVC to check the status next Monday - they won't be able to tell you anything until you've been waiting for a month. I waited for a month as well.

I called the NVC today, although i knew it was a little too early since my NOA2 has only been out since last Thu. But I've had a whole week of being approved and having no idea about it, during which i've been very stressed and anxious.

However it felt good knowing that i'm a bit in control now and i can call a service that won't provide lies and fairy tales about k1 visas still being stuck on December held hostage by an evil witch. So i thought i'd give a "test call" to see what lies ahead.

The lady who answered was polite and told me i have to give them 6 weeks before calling the NVC to ask for a case number. I told myself fair enough, i have to give them a little bit more time, one week in is too soon. I'm glad i called, i intend to call a couple of times a week because I don't trust email notifications and letters take too long to get there. Just in my own experience.

I would like to hear your experience regarding the NVC; do you call, how often, how long did it take for your file to get there, when did it leave for the embassy, etc.

Oh good.... Another Canadian that waited longer than normal.  Not sure why so many Canadians have a longer than average wait 😑 Glad to see you got yours exactly a month later though.  You just called after a month and got everything? Hopefully mine will be there Monday.... seeing others who have waited long and have eventually gotten their stuff gives me hope.....And I am only 2 weeks away from their their 6 week timeframe.

I have been waiting 4 weeks for them to even receive my file..... However I have seen others on here who have waited a long time as well and they did eventually get their case number so I have faith I will have mine soon.  You will hopefully have yours in a more normal time frame (2-3 weeks max it has seemed to be for a lot of people lately).  I call 2-3 times a week and everyone has been polite and very kind for the most part.

Yes I waited for a month. Actually I found out the case was sent out to Montreal from NVC ten minutes before I made the call haha. NVC has two call-in lines - immigration visa line and non-immigration visa line. If you don't get anything from immigration visa line, then try the non-immigration one, which also has a shorter on-hold period.

Yes both my fiancé and I got the emails on that day. You will find your NVC case number (should start with MTL if in Montreal) in that email, and you can use that number to track the case status on CEAC and schedule appointment.

Thank you for the info!! I don't remember ever giving my email anywhere, but I'll tell my fiance to keep an eye on his email over the next two weeks.  Crossing my fingers we'll get it soon and I can make my move in August!!

Congrats to all those who got their approval! I was wondering if the uscis case tracker is up and working again (online/app). Anyone can confirm this?

It worked for our case. Shows approved both on app and online (approved June 14). We are still waiting for official hard copy in mail.
