Hi, I will try my best to explain the process. =)

 

So we know that USCIS assigns case numbers chronologically right? And you can track each case number from the USCIS website. So as long as we know what the first case number is for a particular period (for example, February 2017) then it is technically possible to track all cases for that period. Now the issue with this is, we are talking about thousands and thousands of cases filed in a single month! So it is not possible to do this manually.

 

Another VJ member from the Dec group (or was it November?) @geowrian created a script to first scan all cases files in Nov/Dec and then from there, he extracted just the k1 cases. The same script is then used to scan just the k1 cases for that period. Geowrian has kindly shared the scripts to some people, including me (doing the Feb scan) and @AkesAngel who is doing the Jan scan. The results of this scan is where this data is coming from. =)

Just curious, what is the script written in? Is there some kind of public uscis web service? And don't you need some alternate code to access the details of each individual case? It's been a while since I accessed mine, but I can't imagine uscis just gives that info away freely based on case number only...

 

Or if you'd be willing to share the script with me, I'd be interested to take a look at it, just out of curiosity

We have a 2 year old so i want to be there to fly back with them.

If you check your case status on the USCIS website, it shows a date...like say, on February 7, 2017, we received your I-129F Petition for Alien Fiance....

 

That is the date you see on the google sheet.
