hi guys! just got back home today from south africa and my fiance was finally able to open the mail he received from USCIS. and it is our NOA2!!!! =D

funny thing is (and like somebody mentioned on here before) i thought i was gonna feel a huge relief but no, it was not the case. don't get me wrong, i AM happy that we have been approved but it was sort of anti-climatic really for us. plus now, i am sort-of panicking that things will happen so fast and i won't have enough time to be ready etc!

NOA1: Feb 24

NOA2: May 30

Received the NOA2 mail in the post on June 3. Status still says "Case Was Received" online as expected.

When do you guys think should we start calling NVC?

Congrats!!!!!! 🎉🍾🎊🎈

Well 114 days as of today. No news yet. Still seeing that people have been approved and sent rfes from the exact same day as me in fact the case right below mine on the tracking app was sent an RFE on June 08 I believe. And everyday I see people who got approved from days well after my received date. Everyone that doesn't have an RFE on the day my case was received still says "case received". Maybe we are all approved? I've called uscis multiple times, talked to a tier 2 representative and still the same old mumbo jumbo they tell everyone... I guess I'll try again today. Oh and I signed up for the mail tracker... it's pretty cool

Hi guys - stupid question but what happens after noa2?

Who gets "the letter" from the NVC? Is it the petitioner or the beneficiary ? And typically, how long does this take?

No question is stupid here - we are all here to learn and understand this process 😏

If I am correct,  the NVC should send you a letter telling you that the case is transferred to the embassy of the beneficiary  for final processing. Once the case gets to the embassy they will contact your fiancé with details of what will be needed for the interview.

I wonder how many people call after the insane time frame of 5 months. Do you get to talk to someone above a tier 2 or do they just come up with another excuse of why some don't get processed as fast?

I called again today....they refused to send me to tier 2  (and I was polite). I got the standard "processing December 15 cases and haven't started processing February cases"

The way they make it sound now is you have to wait 6 months.....that's the answer I have gotten twice now (from USCIS)

I'll try again tomorrow

My fiance got exactly the same response, he even asked to speak to a supervisor and they also refused. SO annoying.

You are very lucky... my fiancé is from Salvador. But she currently lives a few hours from there. Can't wait for her interview in Rio. I'll be there for two weeks or so when that happens.

My fiancé just got a call back from a Tier 2. He said they're aware of the fact that the tracker isn't working, and they're working on fixing it.

Unfortunately he had no good news in regards to our case, just a generic message to the effect of we could/should expect to have our case touched within a month and a half (paraphrasing as I just had this information relayed to me). Sigh...
