Just a heads up to everyone: I paid the visa fee yesterday to the local consulate (Taiwan) and have been refreshing the appointment registration page the whole day. I kept getting a "There are currently no appointments available" message. As I'm already used to most of the websites in this process being broken (USCIS, USPS Informed Delivery), I went ahead and called the Taiwan consulate and informed them of the issue. The representative confirmed with me that this was indeed a problem in the CGI website and escalated the problem. Within a few hours, I refreshed the page and there were 5 appointments available! I booked the interview for the 27th.

If you get a similar error message when making your appointment, don't hesitate to call the consulate!

I have read that if you reach Tier 2 your Petition is approved sometimes the same week. On May 30, I called and spoke with Tier 2. Both agents were very polite and cordial to me.

I just went to the mailbox. There was a USCIS letter. Quickly ripping it open, we were approved on May 30. The same day I called Tier 2. I just called Wendy on Video. All I could do is cry and 4 months of emotions have taken their toll. The look on Wendy's face when I was able to share the good news was Priceless!

God Bless You All! EVERYONE, we thank you for all the support you are and will continue to be.

TriloByte, "brother"! Everyone on this forum meets with someone who touches them differently than the other members. I PRAY, soon your wait is over. Through your painful journey, you have been a source of strength and encouragement to me!

GRACIAS

Congrats! We received NOA1 Feb. 21 still waiting for NOA2. I am glad  we have this kind of group that helps encourage n give hope to evryone.

We believe in staying busy and always learning. For those waiting on NVC, use your time to research the exact information you will need for your Interview.

Go to your Embassy website and look for either Packet 3 or 4. I don't understand why the different numbers. They are written both in English and the country's native language. They will tell you exactly what forms are required, fees, where to go for your Medical Exam.....

No one wants their Petition to reach the Embassy to find a delay waiting to get your documents ready!

Good Luck!

Please keep us informed on when you have Scheduled Interviews!

My fiancee wants to call USCIS herself, but from the UK, that's quite expensive. Does anyone know of any cheap international phone services? Maybe some online setup?

I remember seeing someone post about using Skype credits to make international calls to the USCIS and they said it was pretty reasonably priced. I've never used Skype phone calls so not sure of all the details, but probably worth looking into!

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

check here https://secure.skype.com/en/calling-rates?expo365=bundled

I've been using the Unlimited World subscription to call landlines in different countries (the company pays for it), but since she needs the US only, it can be quite cheap.

I have used Viber out while calling NVC, 30-min call didn't cost even a dollar.
