Hello Everyone,

Yesterday we received an RFE and I'm seeking advice on what evidence to mail back.  My fiance is from the Philippines, but she lives and works in Singapore.  I traveled to Singapore in November to visit her.  The RFE states that I have proven that I traveled to Singapore, but I didn't prove that I was with my fiance there.  The evidence I mailed initially was 15 pictures of my fiance and I together, hotel receipt, passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts of attractions we visited with pictures, an email to the hotel stating that my fiance was checking in for us and their response.  I see that the evidence does prove that I was there and the pictures show we were together, but how do I prove that we were together in Singapore in November?  I'm not sure what other evidence to send back.  I can send more pictures of us together, but that doesn't prove a date and location.  We are each going to write a statement that we were together too.  We are also going to show evidence that she lives there (permanent residency documents) and a letter from her employer that she works there.  If anyone has any other suggestions for evidence, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Jon

Do you have any pictures of the both of you taken inside her home/apt in Singapore? Any pictures of you, her, with family and/or friends that are in Singapore? Sounds like they need more proof that you stayed with her in her residence in Singapore because you mentioned that you guys stayed in a hotel. I believe that USCIS wants proof of you and her staying in Singapore with each other. Passport stamps and boarding passes only prove you went to travel there, it doesn't show proof that you stayed with or was with her to establish a little more proof of ongoing relationship.

I would try to send more pictures of the both of you together and make sure to label the location and date when it was taken while in Singapore. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the advice.  I did send pictures of us together at her apartment with friends, but I can try to send more.  I did include in my statement to them that we didn't stay at her apartment because there was no place for me to sleep.  I also included pictures of us at a Singapore attraction.  The pictures were taken by the company and the attraction was stamped on the pictures.  I included receipts with dates showing that occurred in November.  It is very difficult to establish a specific time we were together because pictures aren't time stamped.

If your fiance lives there, and you live somewhere else normally, and you have pictures of yourself with them, and documents showing you traveled there on those dates. I don't understand what else you could possibly need? How else would you have pictures of you two together unless you traveled there and were together? And since the travel dates....

This entire process is already unnecessarily slow and intrusive, and then it seems that people run across these adjudicators who for some unknown reason try to make life even more of a living hell for people. Sorry that you are dealing with this. I guess all you can do is send more pictures if you have them?

When I sent in my petition, I sent in 40 pictures and wrote just our names, location where they were taken and the month and year on the back. I sent 40 because I had visited him at that time 6 times before I sent it so it would make sense to send as much proof to show the whole course of our relationship, but again that's just my thought process. I also included the same things you included as well.

Sometimes, a few more pictures of the both of you together should help to establish more proof of ongoing relationship. But you can send the written statements as well.

This sounds crazy to me, because it seems what you sent should be proof enough, specially things like the pictures and receipt for the attraction there. Maybe consider to send that again and also getting an additional statement for at least one friend that was in the pictures with you both?

Yes, I agree.  They already know she lives and works in Singapore and they said they know I went to Singapore in November, so what other reason would I have to go there?  It seems crazy to me.  I guess I have to prove that the pictures were taken in November 2016 somehow.

Have you ever traveled there before? If not, I am pretty sure they have a record of all your travel activity. Either they came to you or you to them, on one of the dates of your recorded travels. If there is only one travel record to Singapore, then you met them on that date.

Yes, I've been to Singapore twice now.  Once in November 2016 and then again in April 2017, but I mailed the application in February so the only time I could meet her is November.  I've never been anywhere else in Asia.  I sent them a copy of my entire passport and it is blank other than the stamp to Singapore.

There you have it. I am pretty damn sure they have those travel records, so they know all this. It seems that you're just dealing with some a$$hole.

Just send them the pictures from your April trip if you have any. And another photcopy of your passport showing the second stamp of travel.

Yes, they can be a nuisance but when they have our fates in their hands, this is what they do because they know we'll jump through fiery hoops to get our love ones here.
