Hi everyone. We recieved our RFE and they have asked for things we already sent in the first place when we sent off our petition. * intent to marry

* circumstances of meeting

*proof of meeting

They have asked for passport stamps as well as a proof of meeting.

Has anyone else had this before? Is it possible they have lost our original things? We sent it all off after following visa journey step by step and this is what they asking for again  🤔😔

I haven't received a RFE. Still waiting on our application. But this worries me. I don't think we added enough evidence. We included a bit. we've had a relationship for nearly 2 years but I though I would need all that for the interview. We see each other every few weeks so there's lots of evidence. I'm worried we will face more delays.

Good evening everyone:

I just registered for an account today and am also a fellow February filer. I filed on Feb 21 with a noa1 date of 2/24. Ironically I called USCIS this morning after video chatting with my fiancée who is from the Phillipines but is currently working in Taiwan. Long story short agent told me that an RFE was mailed out today 6/2. We met through a dating site in April and went to go see her for her bday in November and ultimately proposed. I submitted all documents they requested such as passport stamps and flight itinerary to show visit. I'm thinking this RFE will come down as they will require maybe information regarding circumstances of meeting but I don't know what else to provide. I will just have to wait and see. I will post update once I receive RFE on the mail. Thanks in advance for any responses.

5/19 NOA2, just called NVC and they haven't received it yet (I wasn't really expecting it to be there, especially with the holiday, but I know everyone says start trying at 2 weeks).  I will call again next Friday.

We have the same NOA2 date, and NVC doesn't have ours yet either.

Has your case status been updated online yet?

Congrats and good luck!

How did you complete the DS-160 without a case number from the NVC

After NOA2 I would wait about 2-3 weeks to call NVC and inquire about your case/ask for case number if it has been assigned. After your case number is assigned you will use it to monitor your case location and status on the ceac website and once it shows in transit it is on its way to your embassy. Once it shows ready it means it is ready for you to schedule interview, although some embassy's schedule your interview for you. I would look into your Embassy specific requirements because your medical must be done prior to your interview. Good luck friend.

Thanks for this! I was wondering the same thing!

Hey all, another newbie/lurker here waiting til I had some useful numbers to contribute.

But first, I wanted to send my love to everyone on this forum, the support and information we provide one another is invaluable. An extra thank you to those who run the scans. Speaking for myself, being able to know roughly what's going on out there has at times kept me sane, and given me strength to fend off the anxiety and pain.

Today my fiancee and I are blessed to have received our NOA2. Dates as follows:

Petition received by CIS: 2/22

NOA1 issued by CIS: 2/27

NOA2 issued by CIS: 5/25

NOA2 showed up in the mailbox: 6/2

To all still waiting, you WILL get there! My heart goes out to you all, in spirit we are all sharing this journey together, and our love will get us there.

dbmathis hang in there buddy!

Thanks, and CONGRATS!!!! :)

Yes. I have seen others who encountered this. The USCIS bunch are not the sharpest tools in the shed, it seems, so it does not surprise me.

I have never in my life had such boredom for the number 1 and such an overwhelming desire for the number 2. It's amazing to me how this process has changed the way I look at the number 1 and the number 2. When I put NOA1 next to NOA2, it's just hard to explain, I imagine getting that NOA2 and it's something like Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory and finding that golden wrapper. Thanks, USCIS, for permanently ruining the number 1 and turning the number 2 into a God. :).

If you met through a site - it might be a RFE for a IMBA. I had the same, maybe email the site And have then put this in writing for you in the meantime to save you some time as that can take a while
