You are absolutely right Trilobite...I have more fights and disagreements than I've ever had in my life with a partner but we refuse to give up.  Not only to have to contend with my problems here but hers also.  Aside from that you have to wrestle with the trust issue being in a reasonably new relationship being so far apart you always wonder what is exactly going on 2000 miles away in your absence but we have overcome that hurdle a while ago.  No one outside of this forum can understand the strength and endurance it takes to keep moving forward with the belief everything will work itself out in the end.  It will be all downhill from here once I have her with me.

I agree! Im almost 9000k miles away from my fiance. It is extremely hard for us especially when you get to past that 100 day mark. Staying positive helps a lot and seeing the light at then end of the tunnel!

I do agree but at times the distance does add to issues because all you don't get the small gestures, the silent time spent together and being able to even have a hug!

you are very lucky if you haven't had a single fight in two years!!! - long distance is testing because you don't get to have the physical comfort or have that person be there when you need- the same time zone etc. when I've been with my fiancé (we have spent a lot of time together luckily) we don't argue and we are always laughing.

the time difference doesn't help and neither does the unknown, I've worked through (and am) working through my own trust issues.

to be honest I cant imagine us not having an argument in 2 years (EVER!!- even when we live with each other). it's not because we don't love each other, our disagreements usually consist of 'you made me feel like this by doing that' and trying to understand each other.

all I have to say if you are extremely lucky and its almost very Hollywood not having had an argument in 2 years!!

The time difference is no fun indeed:) For 2 years I've been waking up at 5.15 everyday to talk to my fiance.

Maybe we are just lucky, I don't know. We do have different opinions sometimes but we somehow manage to accept our differences.

It's not that we made a deal to never fight, we were surprised to notice it 6 months after we started dating (which was mostly online save for 2 weeks together), so it wasn't planned:)

For me a fight means negativity and anger, and what you describe - ''you made me feel like this by doing that'' - is a healthy way to disagree. A fight would be "you are always doing everything wrong!"

I received our RFE, and apparently, it was because my birth certificate (i'm the petitioner) wasn’t accepted as proof of my US citizenship. Even though I got it from the dept. of health in my birth state (MO) and it listed everything they said it needed, for some reason they didn’t accept it.

I will be submitting a copy now of my passport. Do I need to submit every single page of the passport, or just the pages with my information listed on it?

Congrats on never fighting. You seem to be in the minority based on my experience. I've been dating for 26 years now, married for 11 years to the same woman (recently divorced), have friends that are/were married, friends that date and we all have arguments/fights.

Of course, hopefully, we are all constantly learning how to communicate better without "hurting" each other, unless we are just a$$holes. Arguments are not typically something people enjoy.

Interestingly, I would say that it's through arguments that I DO learn the most about my partners, perhaps. If I never argued/fought, it seems to me that I might only be seeing a shallow surface view of the person I am with. There's bound to be things about each other we are not aware of that might be painful to learn, causing tension or fights.

Regarding hurt, it's is just a label, like any other word, it's very shallow. To understand how an argument affected a relationship we need to actually talk about it and probe deep. We may find that arguments actually strengthen relationships like tempering steel. I don't like reducing myself or others down to a 4 letter word, H U R T.

Well, we were both married (me for 12 years, him for 8), and quite unhappily. So we learned it the hard way.

I wouldn't say that we've seen only a shallow surface of each other. We've probably revealed more than we ever expected to.

I don't want to say that nobody should ever argue. We are all different, and if for you it is the way to learn more about your partner and strengthen your relationship, it's great because many people argue just to prove that they are right and the other person is wrong.

Haha, yes, they do on the argue to see who is right or wrong, and I don't have the energy for that these days :)

Oh, maybe that's the secret!

I am a single mom of 2, working crazy hours (because I'm not getting any child support) and studying. And shouldn't forget sleep deprived.

So, that is why we've been not fighting:D It's not luck, it's lack - of energy:D

Quick update. My congressman wrote back. USCIS ignored the question about the online case checker and instead gave me an update on my case. It's still in received. I didn't want to know that, but I know now. More waiting.

Did anyone with a RFE notice that their case tracker changed status to

approved ? Or just it just stay at info received ?

I think it's safe to assume it will not show approved online.  We see a few updating to approved every few weeks only :/
