For a green card holder, When applying for Reentry permit.

1. How long before should one apply before leaving USA for less than 2 years?
2. Time taken to get it approved and receive the Re entry travel doc?

3. What are valid reasons for reentry permit, can taking care of parents health or studying abroad or visiting family valid reasons?

4. Would INS accept pretty much any reason or it has to be something that needs a proof? Should proof be in the form of cover letter?

5. Is there any restriction to work in abroad with reentry permit while away from USA

6. Is it legal to continue to work remotely for US employer while staying abroad out of US?

Please help us folks to better understand regarding re-entry permit
