AOS Question: Walk-in/Earlier Date for Biometrics Appointment

Hi Everyone!

 

I just got my Biometrics Appointment Letter today. I had read from some posts that I can do it ahead of time/walk-ins but those are old posts (years back).

1. Anyone who had a recent experience?

2. What is the process?

3. Should I call the local USCIS center first and verify if they do accept walk-ins?

4. If so, what's the contact number for USCIS San Antonio Office?

5. Do I need to schedule for an INFOPASS Appointment?

1. I had a successful walk-in at the ASC in De-Soto, Tx. 

2. You just go and ask if they will let you and bring your appointment letter, passport and marriage certificate (sometimes they want that if you are changing your name)

3. & 4. On their websites it says to always have a scheduled appointment and normally there is no number to call for this. The general information is that they don't do it but they still do and which centers do so varies. You won't know until you are accepted or denied to do it on the spot.

5. No, INFOPASS are for issues you might have with your case, or clarification of information you might need etc.

I wonder if there is a preferred time to come for walk-ins? (morning or afternoon)

and any Tips?

 

My original schedule is on Feb 17. I dont have a driver's license since my EAD/AOS is still pending.

Someone has to drive and come with me from Corpus Christi to San Antonio. (2hrs drive) My husband can't take a leave from his work. 

My father-in-law is available only this week. We are hoping to have it done earlier.

Well, as I said there are no guarantees. That said the advice I was able to research Is to try to go when they are expected to be the least busy, and to go in the afternoon (after1-2 pm) cause it'll be easier for them to estimate if they can fit you in. I was told somewhere that Wednesdays and Fridays are the best days. You can ofc explain your situation that your father-in-law/driver was only able to take you this week and hope for the best. Good luck.

Hi, any update on if you were able to go in early and do your biometrics? I am in corpus christi as well and have to drive to SA was wondering did they let you do you biometrics early as a walk in?
