Hi, we had filed in Feb 2017, with the NOA1 date as 20th Feb 2017 and priority date as 21st Feb, 2017 at the Nebraska Service Center. My wife is a USC and I am currently waiting in India.

Any idea, where we are with the Nebraska Service Center timelines. The official website doesn't seem to be updated and real life examples would help :)

Waiting.... Waiting.... Waiting.. It's so hard to stay away from your loved one. :(

Am at 90 days now...

There is something that bugging me so bad now, is should i provide additional / change information at this point (after 3 months of waiting) will it reset the case?

But I'm not even sure if i should change that information...:

I am from Hong Kong, holds HK passport that is different from the China one, but since it's a manual form i put China as country because technically Hong Kong is not a country and i didnt know what the options are.

Recently reading other threads i find out China is regarded as high fraud country and having China as Country of Birth on my NOA1 just doesnt seem right - I was born when Hong Kong was part of UK...

What should i do? Should i call and find out?

Don't seem to get an answer on this web...

Hey.. Do not worry. Just give them a call at the number below. I dont think it will reset the timings since it goes by priority date. You can ask them directly these questions. Dont worry. They will help you out.

contact USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY).

Ok thanks so much!... so husband called that number.. they said just send a letter to explain a little to avoid potential RFE...

I double checked the form i filled, place of birth i put Hong Kong, State / Country i put China which is politically correct...

It's just their NOA they used Country of birth which means china...

I guess i will send the letter anyways clarifying a little, i dont mind they use China as my country of birth as long as it doesnt get delayed or rejected....Stressing out...

Anyone travelling to / have already traveled to US after I-130 submission please share exp. / your plan on what to bring and how you answered please~~

Should we say travel to visit family or going on holiday because both are the truth.

Hi, our PD is Feb 21, 2017. My wife is in US and I am in India. I plan to visit her since I have B1/B2 Visa with me. I am aware of the current ongoing discussions. Could any Indian or person from an Asian country share their experience on this one please ? Other country citizens may be part of the VWP - Visa Waiver Program and hence they might have not got any trouble with the immigration CBP officer.

But I wanted to be absolutely sure, if I have enough docs to prove them that I am going to return to India, with loan docs, employment letters, return tickets, etc. Is it safe to travel. ?

On all my trips i respond saying visiting my husband. Once i was asked if he is a resident or citizen. Other times it was just how long i plan to stay and if i had any food or alcohol.  I just returned to my home country on Sunday May 21, 2017.

Hi i too have a B1/B2 visa and i found the whole process ok. As stated before i was asked purpose of travel. Which i responded to see my husband. I was on one ocassion asked if he was a resident or citizen but i found that question ok because before we got married i was asked that as well. He is a citizen.  I was then asked if i had food or alcohol. Alcohol being hard liquor and i replied no and i then mentioned that i had local roots wine. The immigration officer told me to enjoy my trip. And i proceeded to baggage claim and then exited the airport. I only travel with employment doc from HR department stating how may days of leave i am on and my expected resumption to work. They have never asked for it but i ensure that all trips i have it and that includes trip prior to marriage and after. Hope this helps.

Hi guys i have a friend who just received his immigrant visa last week and he told me that once the process gets to NVC there will come a point that travelling will be a no no. We are not at that point as yet. So it is perfectly safe to travel until then. And i understand why travelling would be a problem then because we need to be in home country in order to complete the process.

My advice is to relax go visit honey boos and enjoy yourselves.

Oh that's news! I am planning to go 1st week of July and approval should not be before that according to VJ timeline (now i'm not sure if i hope it would come faster so i can see him haha)

I hold B1/B2 as well but can you explain a bit more in detail what happened to your friend after NVC?

Did he try to travel and was denied?

Here goes. His wife is a US resident. He use to travel back and forth to visit because as you know their status takes a lot longer to process. His wife was told by a family member that he should not travel anymore because of where the process is at. So she called NVC to find out if it was true that when the process gets to a certain point to not travel. They confirmed that to be so.

The news came just in time for my friend as he was getting ready to purchase a ticket and go surprise his wife for their anniversary.

Long and short he did not travel for 1 yr and 6mths as it took that long for a visa to be available for his category as his date kept getting pushed back.
