My husband went for his medical exam on Dec 14, and his interview was Dec 20, 2016. His medical exam results were not ready in time for his interview. He was approved at his interview. He went to go pick up his medical exam from Holy trinity. The doctor was unavailable for a few days. Finally picked up the results, took them to the dhl office on December 29. On December 21 ceac website says visa status ISSUED. January 5, it was updated to ISSUED.

He got a call from the embassy on January 10, they were looking for his medical exam results. He told them that he took them to the DHL office. The DHL office gave him a receipt for the result. They are suppose to forward them to the embassy. In the mean time the doctor at Holy Trinity told him to come back in two weeks to get another hepatitis and tetanus shot. ( I told him not to go, he can get that in the usa for free, i thought tetanus shots last for ten years why are you telling him he needs another one) its been a whole month and he still doesnt have his passport. Does this mean that his passport could be possibly stolen or does he need to get those shots in order to get his passport? Im really confused. The dhl office keeps telling him that its not there. Im not sure what else to do

Have he tried going to DHL office himself to inquire about it ? I was having the same problem when DHL kept telling me on phone they don't have my passport/visa .. I took a trip to DHL office and my passport was there . If it is not there then He should take the blue slip to the embassy section and they will let him enter the building with the slip to inquire it there too..

Is he sure that the embassy has received the results? Is there a way to track if the results were delivered to the embassy? Maybe he should try going to the embassy at 1pm with the blue slip and the receipt from DHL to follow up. Also, are you also sure that he doesn't just need to get the last series of Hepatitis B?....I agree that he does not need to get another tetanus shot. It seems like the stall is in the embassy opening and recording the results and completing the paperwork so that they can send it off to DHL for your husband to pick up the visa.

If he needs the second hepatitis shot, wouldn't the embassy call him? They called before to say they were waiting on his medical results. He has a receipt that the DHL office gave him after droppinf of the medical exam results

I believe within the medical results it states the shots that were given, so that's pretty much like asking for the same thing....From what the situation seems like, he would need to find a way to have the Embassy confirm receipt of the results and enter the information into the system to release the visa to DHL, he may have to keep trying to follow up with the embassy.

Ok, here is another thing. Technically they told him that his visa would be ready in two weeks. Two weeks from the interview which was Dec 20. Now the doctor told him to come back January 12, 2017. Im starting to think he really didnt need those shots if they told him to come back in two weeks to pick up his passport. The dhl did him a receipt saying he drop his medical results off to the dhl office

I believe its standard for the CO to advise the applicant to pick up the visa in 2 weeks. The clinic and embassy are separate entities that work together to provide the service of visa processing, the shots and examination are all apart of the requirements that go along with the visa process. If your husband felt that he had already taken some of the shots before he could have taken his previous shot record to show what shots have been administered in the past so that they could have been documented in the medical exam (if allowed.) All applicants have to meet the same criteria and shots, there are no real short cuts. The best advice I can give is to make sure you have submitted a COMPLETED medical exam to the embassy and that your husband continues to follow up with the embassy to ensure that the results are reviewed and processed accordingly. In my mind this seems like the fastest way for you guys to be together. Good luck

I dont understand how they schedule vaccine. He was give hepatitis and the tetanus, then come back in two weeks for the same shot. Hepatitis vaccine are given a few months apart, not two weeks apart. I guess its ghana, smh. Thank you once again
