Changing address on Green Card

Hello all, my apologies if this is not in the correct section, but my wife got her green card last May, as she came here on a K1 visa. In the next few months, we plan on moving to a new apartment (in the same town we live in now), and I am wondering what paperwork we need to file to get that changed once we move, as well as what paperwork we need to provide. I understand we are required by law to file this paperwork within 10 days of moving, so I just want to be prepared well ahead of time, because some proofs of residency (like a utility bill) won't show that until the next bill cycle.

it's super simple.  I've moved since my GC and it was the easiest part dealing with USCIS haha

That does sound easy, thanks! I'm surprised they don't ask for any proof or anything. This seems easier than the DMV, but to be fair, most things are.

If you were a sponsor for her on I-864, then you need to fill out I-865 form and send it to them. She also needs to fill out the new address online as Michelle13 said above ( AR-11 form).

 

If someone else was sponsoring your wife but they still live at the same address then there is no need to fill I-865. If they were/are going to change address, then they need to fill I-865 and send it.

I believe I did file an I-864, so I'll look into that. Thanks!

Sorry if I am reviving an old thread, but my wife and I are moving this week, so I wanted to be sure I am on top of things, because I'd read some different threads.

 

For my wife to do:

Fill out the online form (AR-11) within 10 days of moving

 

For me to do, as the sponsor:

Fill out form I-865 and mail it within 30 days of moving

 

My uncertainty comes with if I need to provide anything, like proof of our new address or anything? I've read a couple threads (albeit they are nearly 5 years old) about submitted a giant packet of information with the I-865 because they didn't have sufficient information. They included copies of there I-864, receipt numbers of their AOS application, etc. Any proof of residency is something I only have a photocopy of the lease as of right now, which I never know if that's good enough (it's not for the DMV).

 

Is it really just fill out those two forms and submit, with nothing additional needed?
