my bad!

I didnt see the edit :D

But I do agree, they shouldn't need him with you cause he is a minor.

Weird interview scheduling though

There was no age in the post when i posted .. even if it had been my mistake i wonder how helpful pointing it out would be ..? Just trying to help

Mags, I wonder if they hit the wrong key after biometrics. Gave him an interview and then thought to themselves oops! better cancel that! Glad you are going in person to get an answer. Let us know.

That occurred to us too, they keyed it in wrong and changed it back ASAP. Ah well, we'll see what they say tomorrow! I'll let you know.

Well, we went to our Infopass appointment today and it was fine. The reason he had his interview descheduled was because on the 3rd April they forwarded our cases to CSC as we don't require interviewing (according to the Immigration Officer).

So, feeling a bit relieved that there wasn't a #######-up!

The Immigration Officer was really nice and polite. Happy to answer questions too...I was surprised!

So he said your case doesn't require interview ?

Yup, she explained that certain cases fall under a criteria of not requiring interview. She said that our case fitted that criteria and was being sent to CSC for final processing. She said that all it is waiting for is the dreaded FBI namecheck. Once that comes in we'll get our approval notice and the GC will be issued. My fingerprints have already come back clear apparently, she said that was very fast.

But, those were her exact words and I re asked her to clarify it all and she said yup, that was correct. As I mentioned before, she was really nice and approachable.

ok, this changes this game a WHOLE LOT. Because so far, we've told that people get transferred according to how backed up their local offices are... God, I wish she would've told you what that criteria is. It could be a million things...

Nope she didn't tell me what it was, nor do I think she would of had I asked, however nice she was! The only other thing regarding it all that she said was that there are a few visas that fall into this criteria of CSC transferral. K-1s are one of them, obviously.

Not sure that's it, because not all K-1s get transferred to CSC. There's gotta be a pattern somewhere that we are missing.

You misunderstood me. I meant that there are certain visas which, if the applicants fill a certain criteria, can be forwarded to CSC without interview. K-1 falls into that category as do some other types of visa. But there are other types of visa that this cannot be done with at all.

Is that any clearer? Sorry, it's late, I'm probably not making much sense...
