Hello, everyone! I desperately need your help as I only have two weeks to figure this out before I would need to travel.

First, my case is a CR-1, but I am scheduling my own appointment with the consulate just like a K-1 applicant.

My case arrived at the consulate (Ciudad Juarez, Mexico) on January 31st and my CEAC status says READY for an interview. I created an account on the ais.usvisa-info website as suggested by another member. Before, when I had tried to schedule an appointment, it had blocked me and told me that our case was not yet ready and that I couldn't proceed. I happened to try later last night, and the website let me through! It said I was ready to schedule an interview. I checked the dates, and everything was grayed out - I couldn't select a date. I knew that this was normal and that I needed to keep checking back, so 30 minutes later I tried again and an appointment had opened up for February 21st - just a few weeks away!! Someone had to have cancelled just minutes prior. Anyway, I scheduled the interview and the biometrics, received a confirmation e-mail of my appointment, and when I log into the site now, it says that our appointment is confirmed and we are ready to schedule our appointment!

Here is the part that has me freaking out, though...

It says specifically on the appointment letter that I also need to include the invitation letter sent to me from the consulate and/or NVC (in my case it would be the consulate - I have nothing to do with NVC anymore). The problem is I have never received that letter. However, why would the website block me from entering and then all of a sudden welcome me to select dates if I wasn't eligible? I am so scared of losing this date if I don't have that letter. Someone had mentioned that you can go to the consulate in the morning and have the letter printed - is that true??? Is there any chance of them saying they don't have a letter for me and we will be rejected at the interview?? I've also heard that many people never get the invitation letter but schedule their appointments and do as previously mentioned (have the consulate print it). It's very expensive for us to get to the consulate so I need to know that this is possible.

Any advice from people who have been in the same situation is greatly appreciated!!!

Felicidades!!! OK afortunada, step back and take several deep breaths.  Wanted to share with you that our letter of 'Case Ready' dated January 5, 2017, was delivered today.  It had a postage date of January 9, 2017 being mailed from the US Consulate Ciudad Juarez auxiliary office in El Paso, TX.  Our local 'Correos de Mexico' office stamped on the back of the envelope that had received it on January 27, 2017.  Go figure...perhaps their burro from Chihuahua to Jalisco went 'a la playa' for vacaciones en-route south to warm up!  Don't panic if do not recieve the 'Invitation' letter via snail mail.  If you do not receive it prior to having to travel to Ciudad Juarez for your appointment, you can go to the 'Information' window at the consulate prior to your appointment time and advice then you never received the copy in the mail, and ask them to print you a copy. Take an official ID [valid passport] and your CDJ case# so they can find you in their system.  We're envious that you were able to schedule your appointment in February.  Safe travels, and let's us know how your interview experience was.

I saw this after seeing your message. I can't believe it took so long to get to you! That does make me a little less worried now :) Haha I am trying so hard to stay calm and try to breathe, but I am feeling so anxious after being separated from my hubby for 15 months!! You are doing DCF, right? So you also schedule your appointment yourself? Like I said, I did exactly what you told me and just kept checking back - are you able to check for opening appointments after you've scheduled yours?

I'm hoping this will be true for me too cause they say they don't have my case in the system even though it says Ready.

But I'm guessing if it wasn't ok I wouldn't have been able to book an appointment?

The real crappy part is that we'll have to take a trip there just for a day not knowing if we'll even be able to get the letter cause out first appointments are in CDMX.
