Hey Guys,

February 2017 (Removal of Conditions) filer here and I badly need help from anyone right now.  I Filed at CSC (Of course !! ;( ) no updates yet till now.

Now, my spouse is planning to file for divorce and I'm concerned that this will add to the ultimate mess.  I know there is a process called "Divorce Waiver"  and I would like to be educated about real experiences here at VJ.  I saw @LMpalatine and @Mmadeleine have successfully received the 10 year GC with a divorce waiver.

Can anyone advise or enlighten me what best to do right now?  We are still in speaking terms and are actually good friends.

Seeing as my husband is looking for a new job and will probably find one soon I'm wondering if we should go and make an infopass for a i-551 stamp since the letter expires February 27th. Or does the letter still work after the 27th and is good till the expiry anniversary of the GC?

The letter extends the card by a year. Most field offices wont allow you to get a stamp until a month or 2 weeks before its due, some will as they are not aware of this. Its a broken system Im afraid.  Not all employers even know about an extension letter, but they can do a check online.  Another reason why ROC should never take a year, it just causes anxiety and stress for everyone, not just the petitioner but their families, USCIS employees and perspective bosses who aren't in the know about immigration laws, after all if some USCIS employees aren't how can we expect businesses to know it all as well!

We talked earlier about traffic tickets and why some members on here don't drive. I think this covers that adequately. I know in my application (couple of traffic tickets over the last few years), I checked No on criminal history.

This is why my hubby is waiting till naturalization is done and over with before he pursues driving. But what happens if one gets a ticket after filing N-400 and before interview? Just curious.

He would simply have to pay the fine and disclose it. Unless it's reckless driving or something major, there would be no problem with his citizenship.

It's the first time I hear someone not getting their license until they become citizen, just in case it might cause problem.
