Oh dear, but NOA1 is movement in the right direction. I get to do that in about a week.  I must admit though this past year seems way longer than A0S. I guess its because we are nearing the end of the long journey and there is light at the end of the tunnel, albeit I am now drawing my pension, I scare the grand kids with my moustache and I go to bed at 8 pm making sure I have my dentures in a glass at the side of me. To think I was 21 when I first started this journey. Lol.

Love this post! Priceless!

Hi Shell, If I remember you did have an address change since you file for ROC. I wonder if USCIS sent any mail to your old address. If I were you I would call and ask because few people reported on VJ before where USCIS never mailed them anything to their new address. Regards

Good thinking, thanks!  Some of our mail still goes to the old address,  but is then forwarded, but I guess they wont forward an approval letter from the USCIS with it being a government letter.  I might ring them up and see how my case is coming along and ask what address they have in their computers for me.  Shame we can't look those details up online.

It wouldnt surprise me if they sent it to the wrong address, as when I did AOS I filled the form in, however whoever then inputted my details, inputted the wrong address and I didn't receive my NOA1 nor my bio-metrics letter. I rang up and found out that it had been sent out and I had my bio-metrics appointment the day after, so I asked them to fax it.  Then around a month later I received the letters that had been returned to them with the correct address written over the wrong address.

What do you informed folks think should we get a lawyer?

A lawyer for what?  You don't need a lawyer unless there is something wrong with your case.

Ill tell you a little story,  are you sitting down?   Once upon a time there was a boy who met a girl and they fell in love.  The boy proposed to the girl and they wanted to marry in Miami and then apply for a Ir1 when the girl went home. However, the boy being so in love with the girl decided to ring up a lawyer to see if this was legal! NO, NO, NO said the kindly lawyer, that is FRAUD!!  However, don't worry we can help you, miracles happen if you pay us a few thousand dollars.   Then the girl and boy after numerous mistakes from the kindly lawyer realised that they had never needed them and banished to the kingdom of greedy lawyers land.  The end!

I am starting a therapy group called mail box checkers anonymus! Everyday we go to that damn pandoras box, expecting a monumental, life changing peace of paper! My journey to the box starts with excitment, optimism, sense of wonder, bad morning hair and wrinkled pajamas - today could be the day!! Followed with feeling of despair, pesimism, silent swearing, cursing the system and myself for going along with it. It usually ends with booze, bad decisions, trying to get my sense of self worth back. Mind you this happens with 100% accuracy every freaking day, it is like Groundhog day, just more depressing and with more sex haha! Damn u uscis!

Good news - got the Removal of Conditional Basis letter from the local USCIS office. Green Card to arrive in T-60 days!! Woot! I thought it was a request for evidence letter since it had no card. Super happy to see the Congratulations! at the beginning of the letter.

@Jack337:huh: Hi there! i'm Max and i'm a chronic Mailbox Checker! "Hey Max".... Honestly this is a dark time for me. This mail box fiasco has brought me to my lowest low. See, we dont have a key to the mailbox, just the landlord (we trust them/ know them so it's cool and we live in a 2 family kinda thing) Anyyyyhooo, when i got home last night i peeped into the box (like i always do, 10 times a day) and i thought i saw something... A spark of hope hit me and so i reached into the narrow opening in the back of the box, but my hand was a teeny bit too chubby and if my hand cant get it  the hubby's won"t either so i made a plan B, use a spatula because we don't have a tongs :-(. ALL TIME LOW  (Also i'm oddly creative).... worst part is, wasn't a damn thing in the box but AIR. This forum keeps me Sane @shell20, i'd be even more nuts without you.

You are welcome. In all honesty, I don't trust the USCIS system to be that accurate. In fact, no system is perfect but USCIS does have a checkered history of delivering mails. Best of luck to you and everyone in this process.

Hey Max, Shell here, I get it!! Lol

The last place I lived our mail box was 4 miles away and seeing as I don't drive here, then I couldn't get there without an 1 hour walk there and an 1 hour walk back. I had to rely on my husband when he finished work to pick it up and wasn't aware about USPS informed delivery.

Since moving I can receive my mail, however unlike England the mail box is outside, instead of dropping into a letter box straight into your own home and personal space. So being Medusa/Swamp monster. I tend to wake up putting on my old dressing gown. Not a good look to say the least.   I live on a main street across from a Dr's office, very public. With this in mind, I  subsequently find myself peeping out of the window to see who is around when the coast is clear, I quickly and precariously dip into our mail box with just my arm, trying not to emerge in public. Trouble is I always get caught out and the patients are then more traumatised than when they made their Dr's appointment. USCIS, patients across the road from me are traumatised, big law suit!! Enough said!! :)
