Are you leaving the country two weeks before, or returning? You should be fine.

I have news I want to share with you guys first. Today I went to my mail box about five minutes ago and there was an approval letter dated 20 Feb from the Vermont center/centre.

Maybe they are waiting to send the GCs on St. Patricks day since they are green after all.

Hi every one

I have a question regarding G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

did any body submit e notification form with your I-751?

USCIS web site says that service is only available for lockbox locations

just wondered if any body submitted anyways?

Even if you submit it, you won't receive notifications because that service is not available when mailed to service center. I hate that it's not available as well ;-( but it is what it is...

Hi guys thanks to everyone taking their time to help people out. Am filing my i 751 end of this month to remove conditions on my 2 year gc. My question, is it mandatory for me an wife to file our 2016 taxes jointly . Because if we do we going to owe almost 2 grand. So am thinking of filing married filing separate. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated

I would suggest to file your 2016 return until later, after you send off your I-751. Just send the 2015 (hopefully you filed jointly) as proof with your I-751. That along with all other supporting evidence should suffice.

We filed separate for 2015, that's my worry.

Well as long as you have other strong evidence you should still be fine. You both have the same address etc and other joint assets, so that should suffice. I have a family member that had the same issue with the taxes and was still approved, so you should be fine. Just send as much evidence as possible regarding other joint assets etc.

Hi everyone,

 

I have a concern hope everyone can help. I and my wife are planning for an international trip right after I submit form i-751 for her. My question is will my wife need to wait for the NOA1 and take it with her so she can show it to the U.S custom by the time we come back the U.S. Her GC would be still valid and it will be two month away from expiration by the time we reenter the U.S. Will she be ok in that situation? My concern was raised since I heard that valid passport has to be more than 6 months from expiration and i I am not sure if the same rule will apply for GC. Really appreciate for any advice. Thanks so much.
