Hi Fellow February 2017 CSC petitioners,

 

I did not think I would be back here but USCIS seems to take a long time to process my application so here I am.

 

Like you I applied in February as my temporary card was set to expire in April 2017. My application went to the CSC. I am close to the end of the one year extension and based on the USCIS timeline, petitions from August 2016 are being processed and nobody from this month has been approved as I can see. I am planning to go back to France in July 2018 at the latest, but possibly sooner as my dad is ill. I tried to request a case status but since I am in *normal processing times*, it won't let me. 

 

Do we receive another extension for our green card in the meantime? I am starting to worry, especially since I will be traveling with my new baby!

 

Hopefully things will move soon enough for all of us,

You wont receive an extension of your green card you would have to book an info pass to get an i551 stamp in your passport.

I wished I had been told that by the USCIS!

 

I just checked and apparently they give appointments for the next 14 days only... None available today.  Do they typically offer appointments every day? I am in Salt Lake City.

I will try again tomorrow.

Someone I know applied for 10 years GC from California since May 2017. There are 2 USCIS officer came over to her house and check on her and her husband. They asked to come inside the house, but the husband refused to. The wife and the husband argued 2 months back and she moved out. I am just wondering if anyone has similar experiences? She does not speak English so I am helping her to gather information.

I've heard this can happen, but it's very rare. I don't even know how they figure when to come, my husband and I work all day and we are not home till the evening, if someone were to come in the middle of the day there wouldn't be anyone home. Maybe the most suspicious cases they do this or maybe its done at random like an audit. I don't think anyone here has had that happen to them. It hasn't happened to us and I don't expect it to.

I wish they would come round and see me, I wouldn't mind the company, I could make them tea and crumpets and have a chat about how bad the weather is in the winter!  Sorry shouldn't joke, but I honestly don't mind them dropping in if it means that they make a decision, they would also find us a very boring couple who tend to like to watch Gordon Ramsay on tv and talk about whats for dinner, or how much snow there is or about our children and how well they are doing with their jobs or college.

I would welcome them with a cup of tea (found my favourite brand after 2 years, lol), and my 2 yo toddler would keep them entertained for a couple of hours...

Having them here would save me from a 6 hours drive to Portland, so hell yeah! Please come to my house!!

It has been almost a year since I filed my i751, so I've been trying to find more information about when I can expect to hear back and all that.

Please add my case to the record:

Filed to California Service Center

Date of I-751: 2/24/2017

Biometrics Date: 3/20/2017 (guessing here, but that was about right)

I'll add the NOA1 Date when I dig up my files.

 

I also filed with the divorce waiver, as the USC spouse and I were officially divorced in Jan 2017.

Yes, I certainly agree with that. They came over to her house at 6:00AM. I think they probably are investigating her case or just randomly check on people.
