Where  did you file? Aldo, did you sign up for informed delivery through USPS? That scans your mail before you receive it and sends it to your email box, do you know if you have a letter from USCIS.

Hey folks,

My wife and I applied way back in February, 2017 for the ROC. We sent our package to CSC and, as many of you guys, haven't heard back from them yet.

Package Sent: 02/24/2017

NOA Date: 02/27/2017 (Extension letter)

Biometrics: 03/10/2017 (Early walk-in due to travel plans)

(You guys can add us to the list, if ya'll want to)

I read a lot of posts of people saying that they need to go to one of their offices and request a stamp on their passport. Well, I have a question regarding that.

My GC only expires in May but, as we applied for the ROC in February, and my extension letter is from February, 2017 when does my CPR status expires ? One year after receiving the extension letter or one year from the date that the GC expired?

As far as I understood, the extension letter extends my status for another year and as my GC (which my CPR status is attached to) expired in May, 2017 I would have until May 2018. I just want to know if I need to make an appointment soon if I still have time and can wait until April, 2018 to request a stamp on my passport. (But I hope that we get approved before April, haha!)

Also, have you guys heard anything about the processing time for CSC ? And for how long do they normally extend the CPR status for when they stamp your passport?

Sorry for the confusion, guys!  Thank you and have a great week!

Your CPR status expires a year from the "Receipt Date" at the top of your I-797 extension letter. Looks like all of us from CSC are going to need to make info pass appointments. We crossed the border by vehicle the other day and the CBP agent said USCIS is super behind (duh) and that it's highly unlikely we will get approval before the expiration of our letter.

I was told it expires a year after GC expiration date. Anyways it doesn't truely expire, just your proof of legality expires as far as I understand. I was told these things in this same thread.

Hm. The CBP agent told us it was one year after the receipt date, therefore my husbands expires February 28th. He said a lot of people think its a year from the green card expiring but that is incorrect. Not sure what to believe now I guess?

Interesting! Thank you for sharing that! I was slightly freaking out thinking we only had a month or so to get an infopass appointment and here in Seattle that can be quite the task... CBP even said we could be fined $585 or something like that if he tried to cross after a year from the receipt date. Besides the bad info he gave us he was actually quite nice lol
