What I am confused about is that the letter says "your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. During the one-year extension you are authorized employment and travel".

So the letter is proof enough to keep my employment even if I do not receive my 10 year green card before the letter expires on February 2nd?

This is taken from a different topic I posted in concerning using expired GC and extension letter as a list c document for I-9.For anyone who is curious about the outcome here it is. Hopefully this can assist others in the same situation. Hubby went to orientation with state id, expired GC with extension letter AND a print out from the uscis site from their I-9 acceptable documents for employment page explaining that expired GC with extension letter is a valid list c document. The woman was confused at first then he showed her the print out from the site. She then went to grab someone more senior to look at it and it was approved. My advice for anyone doing this is to print out the page on the uscis site that states that it's a valid document for I-9.

I'm checking this website for the list C and I don't see the expired green card with extension letter. I might be checking the wrong list?

Filed the CRI89 on February 15, 2017 and still waiting. Made a call to get an update and was told they just started on October 2016 entries. We were told to think about getting an extension to her one year extension since February is quickly approaching. Not feeling happy about that prospect, especially since we had to wait a full year and a half just to get her original green card. Anyone have experience with this?

We filed February 27th 2017. Your current extension letter is good till a year after the expiration of the two year GC not filing date of the letter. I assumed they would just send you another extension letter if it takes longer I don't know what that procedure is. My hubby's GC expired may 22nd 2017 so they have till that date to process our application. And I think it would have been approved by then. If they are on October now I think we will see approvals in April. But I also heard it's going to start going faster from someone else on this thread saying theu we're backed up because of DACA applications and that they are done with them now.

UPDATE: I read somewhere else that if it's getting close to the one year anniversary of the 2 year GC expiration date you must schedule an infopass appointment and get an I-551 stamp in your passport. Hopefully it doesn't have one come to that.

This is correct. There won’t be another extension letter and if you get one, it will be identical to the last so there is no further extension of your green card beyond the one year. You will need the stamp.

How long does the stamp extend it for? How long before the one year anniversary of the GCs expiration date do you recommend an infopass appointment should be scheduled?

This is much question as well as i’m employed full time and my work would be more at ease that my papers are legal and valid. Plus I can’t get a mortgage if my extension letter is expiring in 3 months! The lender wont care if it’s not my fault or not.

Hi I just closed on a house last October. At first my lender doesn’t want to let me have the loan because the letter is less than a year. But when I got the stamp, they gave me the loan.

For how long was your stamp valid?
