Yeah this is ridiculous. CSC was so fast with K-1. But so slow with ROC. They need to hire more people.

Add one year to your green card expiry date - you're good with no stamp until then.

I appreciate your response and maybe my inquiry was slightly ambiguous.

Filed in Feb 2017.  Extended my privileges for another year, expires at the end of February 2018.  Coming up on 2018, multiple trips planned in February and Mars (even beyond).  How long before the expiration of my rights/privileges, that expire in Feb 2018, can I schedule an info pass to get the stamp?  In January or even now in December?  I'd rather not get stuck in a position where I can't get an appointment or schedule to early, show up, and get turned away because I'm too early.

Hence, at what point in time, X number of days, before expiration is a good time to do this?  90 days? 60 days? 40?  I don't know and can't find any information and calling the USCIS is like talking to, i'd rather not elaborate further.

Thanks.

ROC Packet delivered 2/24/2017 - GC Expiration 5/20/2017.

Well I have news and no I haven't heard from the USCIS or such. However, I am over for Christmas in the UK as I promised my son I would not spend one without him.  Any way back to the news. Last week I was on FB and a stranger posted on my wall asking if I use to live at a certain address in England.  Immediately I was guarded, thinking I had some scammer or such.  However, it transpired that the purse I thought was stolen a year ago was actually posted to my old address in England last week.  My British driving licence was in it with the old address, along with my cancelled credit card, medical card, bank card and yes my GC.  A year later!!  You could have knocked me down with a feather!  With the purse was a letter, saying it had been left in a bar and they had kept it for this length of time. I only wish they had the brains to have informed me immediately, would have stopped me from having to go to London, pay a ridiculous amount for a transportation letter and it would have stopped my husband having to take two days off work, just to get an i55i stamp. Obviously the GC is pretty useless to me and I will have to now write to the USCIS when I get back to the USA and surrender the said card!

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(

Wow, I am surprised but the good thing is no one stole it at least. Do you know VSC has started approving January-2017 applicants? You are one lucky applicant. When do you plan to file for citizenship? Enjoy your vacation, take care.

Well I haven't had ROC approved yet, but yeah I saw that yesterday.  I plan to file for citizenship as soon as the window is open. I just want done with this whole procedure.

I didn't realise AOS seem to have interviews nowadays. I accidentally stumbled upon a thread about the Philadelphia office and saw that they were all talking about the back log with interviews. I now think the ones who received an interview waiver letter were lucky, however now I can't stop wondering if all those ROC applicants that were potential interview waivers, may have to be interviewed for ROC. Hopefully if that s the case they will do a joint interview for ROC/N400 for me.

Also, I noted today that ROC August 2017 are being waived fingerprints due to the backlog at the field offices, although that doesn't make much sense as the person I saw who does my fingerprints all the time, doesn't actually do interviews.  Well I don't think they do!  What a complete shambles.. hey. :(

I couldn't agree more. About the AOS they are interviewing applicants with employment sponsors. The way CSC is processing potentially I would file N-400 with a pending I-751. I think you will be good because they send interview notices pretty soon like under 6 to 8 months based on the VJ filers who reported here. The biometrics employees don't do anything else biometrics because I asked one of the employee during my biometric and she told me I don't know because our job is only limited to biometrics.  VSC is approving applicants under a year which is blessing and CSC is freaking slow like a snail or backlogged, as they say, whatever.

Interesting  regarding employment applicants, I didn't look at their timelines to see if they were filing AOS under that category. I just noted that they all had interviews inline for Philly, however I now I am quite curious and will be going back to the thread to look!

As for ROC, I am positive I will receive a RFE or letter for interview, simply because we don't have both names on the bills nor the mortgage, I don't have a car, so no car insurance.  There are reasons for this, which I wrote about to the USCIS when I filed or ROC.

Right now I want this whole process done!  There are more important things  which over take this process, we are NOT just an alien number. :(

Good luck with your journey. I hope it is quick. :)

WHat an awesome story! It would have been so much nicer if they would have sent it directly after it was found.

My K-1 took forever, they gave me a potential interview waiver and that lasted about many months before they processed. I had to speak to the local congressman a couple times to get things moving.

Really annoyed that I need to drive 2 hours to go get a stamp in my passport soon so I can prove my status. I was actually denied VAT back in the UK on my last trip because I only had 5 more months on my extension letter, the guy asked me to prove on a Sunday that I was planning to live in the USA beyond a year. Apparently, wife and kids don't count. Never going to try and get VAT back in the UK again, was a pain to wait in the 40 minute line just to get told I couldn't get it back.

What's VAT? And you got stuck in UK and couldn't come back on extension letter!?

Hi everyone!

Sorry if my question has been answered before - I filtered through the forum and can't seem to find something that fits my request.

I filed for ROC in February 2017 (my conditional green card expired in April 2017).

I don't have international trips planned before September 2018 so I'm not too worried about getting a stamp but how about work? Am I still legal to work in the US even if my green card has expired and my ROC hasn't been lifted? Do I need to apply for a specific form?

The CSV is processing cases from July 2016, making me doubt mine will be processed by 02/2018 or 04/2018. I passed biometrics no problem and when I check my status online, the message "Your fees have been waived". I called USCIS about it and they said it was a mistake.  Should I submit a special request?

Thank you for reading and for your time!
