I am in the process of filling for divorce and wanted some advice

Married in 2014 and filled for ROC in Feb 2017

So I applied for Global Entry about eight months prior to my conditional green card expiring and paid the $100 application fee. I'd researched it and knew I could be approved if I had six months left on my green card and that if approved, Global Entry would carry over to my 10 year green card. Once I paid the fee I found out that the earliest interview date CBP had, within reasonable driving distance, was nine months away and beyond my conditional expiry date. I tried for a cancellation with no success. I've been rescheduling the interview, pushing it back and back, waiting for my ten year green card to be approved. CBP have now introduced a new rule that the interview must take place within one year of the conditional Global Entry approval. If my green card isn't approved by early January 2018, my application will expire and I'll have lost $100.

Maybe it's just unreasonable to expect USCIS to make a decision within 11 months of receiving the application. Maybe CSC will speed up and I'll get to go to the interview in January 2018. Who knows! What I do know is that this waiting sucks.

Waiting does suck. Especially when it's this unreasonably long. My husband had to give up a job interview that only hires residents with 10 years cards and not the conditional 2 year card. Starting to get impatient.

Hey all

question. We are flying to Canada for the Christmas holidays, returning to California Dec. 27. Just was wondering if I need a I551 stamp as the Visa extension expires in February 2018. Or if I am okay to wait till we are back and get the stamp in the new year?

just looked at processing times and they are finally in August!! Lol.

Thanks in advance for your opinions

Hi, you don't need to get I551 stamp now. At the airport, you need to show your NOA1 letter and keep your expired GC with you they might ask you. When they check the security & custom system online at the airport it will show your immigration status as pending. It means you are all good. Enjoy your holidays.

VSC is currently processing October 2016 filers. You can check it out on processing times on VJ. Also not everyone gets an interview, most don't for ROC. They typically only schedule you for an interview if you didn't provide adequate evidence of living together in an ongoing marriage. No one can tell you what's considered 'adequate', it depends on the adjudicator.

Thank you so much for replying! I have totally forgotten about that option of looking up the processing time online!

Oh okay that make sense! :-)

How far in advance shall one book an appointment for the stamp if our expiration is in February?  I have multiple trips scheduled in February and March - my assumption is that the CSC is not going to get our applications processed and done by then...

ROC Packet delivered 2/24/2017 - GC Expiration 5/20/2017.

NOA - 2/27

Bio - Walk-in 3/10

Add one year to your green card expiry date - you're good with no stamp until then.

At the rate CSC are currently processing I-751 applications, I feel like it's going to be years and years before they get to February 2017 filers.
