I have my driver's license but they're still need unexpired GC.

You can't provide them with something you can't get. The extension letter should be sufficient. Have you explained how uscis works?

Yes I explained. I told them USCIS still working on July 2016 applications and won't be able to get my card until Feb next year. My lender is asking if I have a history of prior renewal. I came here on a spouse visa so this is my first time renewing.

Do you still have the document that was issued when you got your GC? That might work. The one that says keep this document in case GC becomes lost.

Yes I still have that... the funny thing is... USCIS send me a 10 yr GC before. I sent it back cus i it was an error. I suppose to have 2 yrs since we haven't been married for 2 yrs when I got here. My friend told me not to send it back. But I'm scared it will affect my application for naturalization. And of course it's the right thing to do.

Not sure which service centre you mean.  VSC are processing August, July, June the whole lot.  Today according to visa journey CSC have processed a case from September I would think most cases will be processed within a year. If you need to travel then you will need an i551 stamp in your passport or on a card if your passport has expired.  I feel that you probably wont need to do that, but Im the ever eternal optimist believing that sooner or later they will catch up to the 6 month processing time they have said in the past they hope to achieve.

I have the extension letter do you think that I can travel with. Or I have to stamp my passport thank you.

Depends on when you're travelling and how long for. That letter along with your expired GC should be good for a year after the expiry date on your Green card. It basically extends the expired card for a year. If you are due to travel when that year is up then you will need to make an info pass to get a stamp in your passport.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(

It's not your extension letter date, if I am correct it  is your expired GC, add a year on it after the expiry date and thats when you will need to go for a stamp for travelling.   So if you travel next year then about 2 or 3 weeks before travel you need to go and get your stamp or when your GC is expired, plus one.  Be sure to take your travel itinerary with you as prove of your vacation, I tend to cover all bases, so they can't give me the run around.

Ok my GC expired August 21st 2017. I'm gonna travel home September 6th 2017. and back here September 24th 2017. The thing that in my country they don't recognize the extension letter that's why I made an appointment with USCIS Monday 28th 2017 to get my passport stamped. Do you thing they will stamp it or not. Thank you again you are sooo kind and helpful

That's so strange. Who's your lender? We just bought a house and didn't have any issues with the green card extension letter. I mean, it's all USCIS give you...not sure what your lender is expecting you to produce?

I'm working with Integrity Mortgage group. What's your lender?

I told my lender about the I-551 stamp. Sent them link from the USCIS website They told me that could work.

But will field center issue me a stamp that will be good for a year?

We went with Berkshire Bank. Pretty sure they're local to MA so might not be useful to you, but I'd be happy to send you my mortgage lady's details if you think they'd work for you!

Not sure about the stamp. Not sure if they'd issue you a stamp while your extension letter is still in effect. I'm sure someone who knows more than me will have an answer. I still don't think you should have to provide anything more than the extension letter though. Sounds like your lender is either really stringent or (more likely) just doesn't understand the way USCIS does things (and who can blame them :P).

Not sure how far in you are with the mortgage process but it might be worth shopping around. If they won't accept the only documentation you have, let them know that you'll just have to go somewhere else as other lenders DO accept the extension letter.

I'm buying house here in NC so I don't think your lender can help us😔

My file were approve with underwriting. Everything looked good. We just need to close. They sent me docs that I needed prior to closing. The said unexpired GC. I explained to them but the head underwriter didn't accept my extension. It's just upsetting. Cus I sent them my GC and the extension when I started the process. They accepted it, now I'm few weeks from closing, they're rejecting.

Ugh, how frustrating :( I'm sorry! I guess your best bet would be to try for the stamp, then. Fingers crossed for you!
