I have news I want to share with you guys first. Today I went to my mail box about five minutes ago and there was an approval letter dated 20 Feb from the Vermont center/centre.

Some you can. I was at a very very busy location today where the average wait was 2 hours. I saw some people get turned away or asked to come back... the worse that can happen is that they say it's too busy today. 

 

LUCKY YOU!! I did mine this morning in Buena Park... it was 2+ hours of terrible wait time. I did Santa Ana my first time when I did AOS and it was smooth and quick. I probably was in an hour in 30 minutes or less... today, I was there at 10:30 and out by 12:45.

need help I filled my petition early feb on feb 1st package delivered on feb 4th received my acceptance letter on Feb 11th Vermont center dated Feb 6th. But since feb 19th I am away out of country as my mother was critically sick n sadly passed away n I still away. Just thinking of missing my biometric appointment. Tried to check my receipt number or case status on uscis website but not giving any answer. Can you please provide me with any special instructions on anybody's biometric letter like special web link or direct call number regarding this as I don't want to no show and denial in my application. Please help I m from New York metro area

Hey guys! I had my biometrics appointment at the New Orleans field office and it couldn't have been smoother. I got there 10 mins earlier but had to use the bathroom after my 1.5 hrs drive to get there. I gave the lady my form 5 min before my appt, filled out the form and... my picture and fingerprints were being taken at the time of the appointment... on the dot! I was out of there 5 mins later. This office has improved A LOT since my first visit there two years ago, and the interview a few months after that. Good luck everyone! I really hope your appointments go is nicely as mine did! ^_^

Your NOA shows an extension, but your GC will show it's expired. Depending on the agent you get, you cannot be 100% sure. I haven't decided yet whether or not I will be attending this wedding (though I would love to). I'm also traveling through Canada, which is fairly "safe" though I've heard stories as of late of agents being confused with protocol and not sure what rules to follow. 

 

 

 

I totally agree with you. I know people traveled with NOA and expired GC before and totally was fine. The only thing that kind of worry me is the whole new presidential things. I think if you go to Canada, it wont be a big deal. In the worst case, you cant come back with your NOA, you always can enter as a tourist with your Canada passport.

I was a little confused about what is considered date of I-751 and thought it was day package was mailed not received.  Our package was mailed February 27th and received on March 1st at VSC.  Still awaiting NOA1 in the mail.  Should I have posted in the March thread instead of February thread?  Sorry about the confusion, just want to make sure I'm in the right thread.

You are on the right thread. Date of I-751 = Package mailed date, not received date.

Had my biometrics yesterday. The LA office was pretty empty. Took me just 10 minutes for the entire process.

I was late by 20 minutes (I left way early, but was stuck in massive traffic). The officers didnt say anything and happily did my biometrics. 

Now the long wait starts.
