@derwood thank you for making sense out of that. It' does make things clearer. Two questions for you;

1. Have you filed your N400?

2. I called the 800 you posted earlier & its says to wait 180 days from the day the file was received. My uscis account shows that on 2.26 received at local & then again on 2.28. So according to your theory its on a pile waiting to be worked. The case goes on to say I should expect something in the mail by 3.28.18. Do you think that the "mail" will just be a notice that my file was scanned/transferred. In you 2013 experience how long did you have to wait after those notices??? Thanks!

The notice you will get in the mail will be either RFE or approval for I-751 or interview notice for a combo.

When is your GC date?

Okay @Deerwood so i'll go for the latter most likely an interview if you have applied for N400. And from my research, within a month of your anniversary you are most likely to get an interview letter.

BTW I want to ask if all those that received the 'case transferred to local office' are February filers AND have filed for N-400?

I received my "Case transferred to local office" update twice and I am a January 2017 CSC filer and have not applied for N-400.

You maybe right and that sounds sensible. Strange that my case has been transferred from CSC to CSC, when I live in Ohio though.

They are likely to adjudicate your I-751 at CSC sooner than later because your N400 will be handled at USCIS local office servicing your area of abode. So, we can logically rule out interview if your file is still with CSC and you live in Ohio. The transfer(s) may likely be from one building/department to the other within the same office complex or city.
