Question for VSC Filers in February: Have all members received their approvals for Feb 2017, VSC Filers?

Our case was received on February 23rd and we have still not received an approval letter/notification.

I do see that alot of the members have received their approvals already. Was wondering if there are members here that filed in the same time frame as I did at VSC and did not.

Thanks!

I wish I could answer that for you, however I cant as the timelines were not up dated and I didn't know how to do that. I guess the person who was updating it, received their GC and left?  Any way I am sure you're not alone, even when I received my approval there were still people from January receiving news about theirs.  Ring them up, see if there is any movement. You've waited over a year at VSC and Im sure you are allowed to inquire and ask them has anything been sent out, as you're worried it might have been lost in the mail. The thing here is they don't update your status when youre approved. I was approved on the 20th and I wouldn't know through my status, I just received a letter to tell me.

Thankyou Shell20 for the quick reply. I did talk to them, and the lady said to wait 90 more days.

Online the case seems to be transferred to the local office, however the agent on the phone said that is not the case. So its still at VSC, waiting in line to get approved.

I am planning to go ahead and get the I-551 stamp asap.

Well its the fact they put the fees up and I read in a report yesterday it was to hire more people. Fair enough if the processing times speed up, but they went backwards at one point last year. And yes its gas/ petrol money to go 2 hours away and 2 hours drive back for a stamp, but its not just that, its time my husband has to take off work to drive me there. We realise that we probably have to go there 3 times this year, which is fair enough for biometrics, interview and hopefully Oath ceremony. That we can understand, however him taking time off for a stamp is what annoys me. I tell you why it annoys me. My husband only gets around 2 weeks off each year  and we want to share our time with our blended family. My son gets married in May in England and his son graduates from the Navy, so he has to rush to England for a long weekend and not a week as I would want. Then he has to rush to South Carolina for another long weekend.. Our time together is precious, his time off work is precious and I551 if processing times are in a timely manner or unnecessary unless its in an emergency!  Ill get off my soap box now! Lol :)

Lol don’t get off ur soapbox!!! U r completely right!!! I am sure they don’t understand the inconvenience this causes.  Days off work, long drives, not able to travel to see family as often or as easily. ETC ETC.

I think we should get a refund lol and put that money towards the N400.

Congrats on ur son getting married!!! And congrats on ur hubbys son graduating!! Lots of big milestones going on for u!! Woo hooo!!!!

Was this person a tier 1 by any chance?  Just that they don't have access to certain systems and probably say whatever to get you off the phone and not have to transfer you.

Yeah, who knows grand mum in a couple of years?   Fortunately my son is not thinking of moving over here, he would be collecting his pension by the time he got a date, especially now he is marrying!

My spouse received her card (new colorful card) last month and online status said it has been mailed today. :o   So we didn't rely on online status and we didn't worry about online status as long as we were seeing many approvals and we trust this forum. :)

Well the thing about online status is that informs you not only of a decision but that a green card is produced and on its way.  How can you know one has been produced or sent if your case status says case received with no updates? To me its a question of security.  For example if I rang my bank and my card was lost they would stop it, then would say you can expect a replacement in 3 to 5 working days, so I know after that time if it hasnt arrived there is a problem. However, I feel bank cards are more secure than GC's and surely a GC card should be more secure than a bank card? After all not only will it have your address on the envelope, it has your photo id and such.  Just my thoughts on the subject, again I will get off my podium.  :)

Oh I wish I had some sun, damn this snow!! Lol  Im sure I will be an awful Nan, I am quite strict when it comes to manners and such. However, I do have a soft heart under that colder exterior and no doubt will be receiving lectures of my son for giving the children to many toys or sweeties. My son already tells me off when I visit him,  he says he feels like he is the parent, when I come in at 1 am trying not to wake the household up. Ah well. :)

Shell20 I believe it was Tier 1.

Dont know what others knobs we can turn to get access to better info. Hopefully the local office will be able to tell us something when we go there 2 weeks from now.

Yeah I would pay no credence to that and the reason why is I use to work in a call centre for a bank. Now the supervisor/manager wanted everyone to deal with calls at first port of call, so some representatives would say anything to get the person off the phone, as they were monitored on stats and such, which affected their bonuses.  I know for a fact that tier 1 do not have access to all systems as every time I have rang up, I have been transferred as they dont have access.
