My wife got an RFE for the second time, the last one was about I-963 medical examination and also immunization suplemment although we have already passed it when we filed the AOS.

Now, yesterday my wife did her medical exam at a designated civil sergeon in our area. We payed for about 235 dollars and I was wondering why the doctor didnt give her chest xray, i would just like to know if anyone here who have done their medical without chest xray? Im so confused and worry....please..share your experience of your medical exam in the US.

I had my medical done here in the US just a couple of weeks ago. First I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork and had to answer questions regarding my medical history...then the nurse asked about my weight, took my blood pressure, asked me for a urine sample, and drew some blood...after that I met with the doctor who looked over my vaccination record and it turned out I only needed a td booster...then she checked my breathing, eyes, ears, throat, and did a quick breast exam...about the chest x-ray, here in the US the civil surgeons commonly do a tb skin test. So probably your wife had to undergo the skin test and therefore didn't get a chest xray.

3 days later I went to pick up my results. I received the results in a sealed envelope for USCIS and got a copy of the I-693 A Supplemental form for myself.

Yep, I believe the chest x-ray is done only if the TB skin test shows up positive. Nothing to worry about if she didn't get an x-ray. Good luck.

They inject something into your forearm and then you have to be back after 2..or 3 days to get the results, the doctor then looks to see if it reacted, if it did, then they ask for a chest x-ray.

Tell her not to scratch it, or it will become irritated and cause a false positive.

As a K1er, you did not need another medical exam before you adjusted status. My understanding is that the civil surgeon here only needs to transfer the information from the form you received at your overseas medical to the

I 693A form - which is then the form you would send in with the AOS packet.

Looking at their timeline, they had their interview for K1 in 4/20  - last year... so most likely medical was done over 1 yr ago, which then makes it "invalid" for AOS.

I was just going to say the same thing. Limited timeline to go by, but yes, they can request a new medical even if its *close* to expirring.

A recent post + reply have been split from this thread and given the topic title "Questions about RFE for I-693 [split topic]."

Thread from 2007 is now closed to further comment.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
