At least tell us what is in it.

They are all my papers inside.. All the papers that i have signed when i had my interview there. No any other papers added... Is there anyone of you done this accidentally???

Several people have posted on here that they've done it, yes. You need to get in touch with your Consulate and tell them you opened it - they'll want you to take or send it back so they can re-seal it for you. It has to be unopened when you arrive in the US...

Do u think they can make an exepmtion, since my flight is on Wednesday the11th of April and tomorrow and the next day is holiday.. So i cant call them no until Monday... Do u think they will just let me to just walk in?????

Call them ASAP and then go to the Consulate and they will reseal it---it CANNOT be opened until Immigration and Customs officers take it from you upon your entry into the US at your POE. There are NO exceptions with anything with USCIS.----at least from my experience!

Did they resealed it ont the same day that u contacted them??

I've read where people have had it resealed when they went there (same day)... Call them right away...

I wish i can.. they are already closed.. and tomorrow is holiday here and on friday.. i have to wait until Monday.. Thanks a lot... I just hope and pray that they wll do on the same day.. If not i have to reschedule my flight..

I have no way of knowing (nor does anyone else really) but I have faith that if you explain the situation in detail they will likely let you do a walk in to get it resealed. Here's hoping anyway! M.

I received my papers with the visa the other day.. I guess i was so excited when i was opening the big envelop. While i was opening i just read one of them says that "to be open only by united states immigration authorities". I was shocked when i saw that and it was late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I opened the envelop! Do you think this will be a problem when i get in the immigration and see its already opened????????

Yes, I think so. You should contact your Embassy, explain the situation and request a new packet if they'll give you one. The information they provide in that envelope is not to be read by you, so I would assume an open envelope would make that information null and void. Get in touch with your Embassy ASAP.

Since I've been a member here I have seen quite a few posters that opened the magic envelope, its not secret or classified, but you do need to go back to the embassy and get it resealed. I too believe that if you explain it you can walk in and get it done same day. GOOD LUCK!

It was discussed during the CFO seminar not to open the Brown Envelope and I understand your excitement. Better call Manila Embassy and inform about it. Im not sure if they are open on Monday since it's holiday. It was also mentioned in the seminar that it takes 3 business days to send you another packet. But, im sure this is a case to case basis maybe you can call them and get an appointment that you need to pick up on the same day. Give it a shot just be positive.

They will just reseal the packet you have, as I said you are not the first to open it, dont worry, just get yourself to the USE ASAP
