Hello, I am new here and I don't really know where to post this since I'm not really K-1. I'm A2, child of diplomat, I came here legally when I was 10  because of my dads job but that A2 status is only valid for as long as my dad works here.

Anyways, I stayed, met my husband, got married a year later and had our baby back in July. I filed my I-130 back in November 2015, got approved, filed my I-485 in march 2016, did my biometrics in april 2016, and did my interview in july 2016...everything went well BUT the interviewer told me that he cant process my application until I submit our son's birth certificate and some other paperwork. so since my son was born just 10 days before that interview I still didn't have his birth certificate in my hand. so my husband and I took a couple weeks to get it together and by august 1, 2016 my husband dropped everything the interviewer asked for in the Chicago office downtown like he instructed. it is now February 2017 and I haven't received any update. I'm a little worried. I stopped by around December to ask about it and the guy made me fill out a form and told me hes going to personally give it to the guy. ever since then there has been no news. how long does this process usually take? I'm a little worried and just getting a bit impatient. everything went well during the interview by the way, he was nice, and just asked for the birth certificate of my son...

TIA
