N-400

We wanted to file and send in our fee money and N-400 form and applicable documentation around the 16th of February , which is three months before her three years of our marriage.   Two year green card expired on 5/16/2016, she does have her 10 year green card now

 

My question, documentation I am sending is 2014 and 2015 tax return transcripts and I wanted to send in our 2016 tax return, which the IRS has already accepted our tax return and they are depositing our refund on February  3rd.

 

Is  there another piece of documentation we can send in to replace the 2016 tax return transcript?  I am asking because I can not request a transcript from IRS until after 6/15/2017 for the current tax year of 2016.

 

We are very impatient and did not want to wait that long seeing we can apply and send everything in this month.  So is there another piece of documentation we can send in besides our 2014 and 2015 transcripts without being a Red Flag.  We have everything else required, except that last tax return transcript for 2016.  Any good suggestions so we dont get a red flag.  One of the documentation to provide they want the last 3 years of joint tax return transcripts.  I am sending in our apartment lease, and everything else required to our case.  Again, the only thing that worries me is the 2016 tax return transcript.  I guess depending on your suggestions, I might not have a choice but to wait till after 6/15/17 to request it, then that will also take about 10 days or longer after we make the request.  Very frustrating.   Thank  you again.

1. You file 90 days and not 3 months prior to the "resident since" date.

 

2. Since you have until April 15 to file taxes, it is not expected for you to have a copy of your transcripts.

Thank you I understand all that, used the wrong words, I know it's 90 days.  So Cheezees any suggestions to replace the 2016 transcript, you corrected my questions, but you gave no advice or suggestions  on what I could replace the 2016 transcript with.  Or would you suggest to just wait till I get the transcript.

There is no replacement. It is not a document you are expected to have at that time. Therefore there are no red flags.  This is thankfully a non-issue.

Sorry, you feel that way Cheezees, because everyone going through these USCIS processes is an issue, otherwise Visa Journey would be a resource not needed!!!!!!!   Thanks again

I Agreee with @Cheezees that's solid advice, and @rjgacek your response does asks questions as I think you would be happy with knowing that the 2016 tax transcript wouldn't be expected to be in the N-400 docs that you send. If you still have that concern then send a copy of the 2016 tax return or the receipt that shows that you filed and are due a refund. All the best
